----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have pages of stocks with approx 35 symbols on each page. when i access a chart the template has my charts with 10/20 min mov.averages on a 5 min chart and othe indicators.i right click to get a historical daily chart which is just fine what i woull like to do is go on to my next symbol(stock) on the page without having the 5min, chart coming up and just the daily chart so i can look at 35 charts on the page in a matter of minutes. after if i'm interested in the performance of the daily chart i can drill down to the 5 min chart wich is showing me approx 10days (i have IB)of 5 min. of data. The daily chart would be acessed on the page with the 35 symbols . thanks( I'm sorry for not being more clear) cheers john
@Appleseed, You can open a historical chart chart and link it with the same color pin to the portfolio. Click on the first symbol in the portfolio. The chart should change to it. Use the down arrow on the keyboard to switch to the next symbol. Repeat for all symbols in the portfolio. When you wish to see an intraday chart, just double click on the row, or right click and select the option on the chart
In an intraday chart, in the upper RH corner there is a countdown for the bars in a candlestick chart. To its immediate left is a ##% what is that for and where do I initiate it or shut it off. Thanks
that is the PACE indicator. You can right click on it to change parameters for it. right click on chart, VIEW sub-menu has Show/Hide Pace Indicator option
Hi, Jerry: 3 questions. I'm using QT3.9.8a, and TD Ameritrade fed data. 1) only FAS chart (3x financial bull ETF) can't be backfilled in its intraday chart, even FAZ(3x financial bear EFT) no problem to backfill. Is it a bug? 2) Is it that backfill must be operated during market time, 9:30-4:00? When open a chart in pre-market time, it can't be backfilled to get data from 8:00am. The beginning time is fixed at the chart opening time. 3) When using Heikin-Ashi candle in a chart, the upper/lower indicators, like DEMA, Bollinger Bonds, Time Series forecast, MACD, CCI - will be calculated based on Heikin-Ashi candle, or original O/H/L/C data? And is Medvedtrader available? How can I try it? Thank you for you answers. Jason
Jerry. I have connected QT to IB via gateway since it introduced. The default port for gateway is 4001 rather than 7469. After changing 4001 to 7496 both QT and BT (Bracket Trader) have worked fine. However after recent TWS upgrading both no longer work with gateway even I set gateway port to 7469. If I set both gateway and BT port as 4001 BT work fine. It seems to me the new gateway does't accept 7469 anymore. Is it possible to make a patch let QT go through IB gateway port 4001?
@Jason Wu, you are confusing Backfill with QT just storing the quotes and showing you that quote history. That is why 1 and 2 questions came up. You are not actually backfilling in either case. right click on the chart and select Backfill. Does that fill in the data? As for Heikin Ashi - if you change the chart to use HA, everything is computed from the HA candles, including the indicators We have not publicly released Medved Trader yet. We have a number of people beta testing it but I don't want to do a public release yet.
QT always required the default port. Not sure how you had it work otherwise. MT has an option to change the port. I cannot make any patches or changes to QT
