The charts do not update in real time. Level 2 window is empty and no time&sales. The indices that I watch in the main window top panel are displaying "- -". I have TD Ameritrade Streamer selected as the quote source. I tried selecting different quote servers and the STOP button status in the main window panel continually says "Connecting..." while the other STOP button statuses in watchlist windows say "Logged In - requesting quotes" without any green light activity, and then "Restarting" and eventually "ERROR: CONNECT FAILED". If I click on a watch list symbol the charts will pull data up until the current period. CTRL-F will update the data per the chart period. I used to trade through this account a few years ago. I moved to another broker and kept a very small amount in this account for the last couple of years just to have cheap access to real time data. Is there some restriction in effect currently in terms of account minimums for real time data?
did you make any changes to the account recently: 1) link it with another account 2) Enable futures or anything else 3) Change anything to do with Margin? Can you login on the site and make sure you have exchange agreements signed
Did you try switching servers? Don't know what to tell you. I don't have a way to troubleshoot this now.
I tried re-installing QT and updated it with the patch v3.9.8 When I tried starting QT, it kept complaining about Cache\SDATA.DMP being read-only so I just created a cache folder and and empty SDATA.DMP file. Now the intraday charts do not pull any data. Quote servers: 216.105.251.37 216.105.251.38 216.105.251.39 I think QT finally quit on me.
ok, those are not valid get the patch. that has an updated amtd configuration which I believe has an updated server in it. if you see ameritrade02.streamer.com as the server, select it
Download and install the patch from here: http://www65.zippyshare.com/v/77716919/file.html Once installed QT (Help) will show 3.9.8a
Sorry I didn't catch this post earlier. I also was having problem with some of my real time quotes stalling out between October 14 and October 16. This was unusual for me. I don't usually have any problems unless, for instance, TD Ameritrade takes their server down temporarily -- in which case, I just switch to another broker feed like Etrade. I usually use TD Ameritrade's feed. But, when that started giving me problems, I switched over to Etrade's feed and got the same results. Everything was back to normal on October 17.
I recently opened an account with TD Ameritrade. I now want to use QT which I am familiar with from years ago. I installed v. 3.9.8a and when I tried to access TDAmeritrade data QT asked me for "name and password required for access." QT said if you "have log in information for TD Ameritrade please enter it below." I entered my valid TD Ameritrade User ID, and Password, and QT rejected me. Said I should "Go register at TD Ameritrade". But I am using my valid TD Ameritrade User ID, and Password. What do I do? If TD Ameritrade "no longer supports QT" who do I ask to help me?
