I stumbled upon this thread many months ago hoping to find discussion about the backfill problem. I was SOOOO happy to discover qtfix here. Solves the problem and the 60-day intradays is such a cool bonus! But I thought I'd finally post about a couple of lesser issues I'm having - and sorry if I missed discussing these earlier in this ginormous thread... Backfills for the indices still don't seem to work. Index Quote Source = "TD AMERITRADE STREAMING Indices (Customers Only)" I love that QT has such a small footprint on my PC. That fancy-schmancy TDA/TOS interface pretty much crushes my poor old PC. But take a look at the "VM Size" column in the Windows task manager when you "Backfill All Symbols" in QT. It keeps growing and doesn't return to normal levels (until I restart QT). For me, anyway, I have enough symbols that all those backfills impacts my PC's performance. Anyway, I too am looking forward to checking out MT. On a completely separate note... A while back, I noticed quotes stopped coming in. So I checked this here thread and sure enough, found a note about the TDA servers being down. Thus, I was placated. So to stock777, hey, the number of posters isn't necessarily equal to the number of readers!
If I just want to drive QT around the block, whats cheapest way. Just want to see what a chart looks like and drawing tools. thanks
TonkaDad: First download and install: http://www.quotetracker.com/download/qtsetup.exe Then download and install from here: http://www65.zippyshare.com/v/77716919/file.html Then read the QT Help, setup and test drive away. Jack
For feed use IB or IQFeed. You should be able to get a week or two free feed from IQFeed, just to do a test run. If you're an IB customer, then you'll have the feed. Here is a link to the IB setup. http://www.quotetracker.com/help/ib.shtml IQFeed.net BTW, the Medveds are working on a new/replacement for QT...Should be out sometime this fall, I believe. https://plus.google.com/103500733250781672836/posts
Thanks I have IB. I downloaded the patch and tried to apply it, but it was missing some file and tried to retrieve it on web but failed.
