what is the easiest way to get QT on a new computer? Should I just DL the patch on this thread? Thanks
The easiest way is to just copy the entire QuoteTracker directory from the old computer to the new one, then create the shortcut for the STOCKS.EXE. Alternately, you can do a regular install of QT, then extract the patch (patch on its own won't work). you can get the full install at www.quotetracker.com/download/qtsetup.exe
if you look at the title of this thread and it's first post, they have been at it for over two and a half years
I'll tell you what you really need to have in the new QT, if it isnt in there already. It's an old feature, goes back to the early days, but a lot of modern sw doesnt have it. A consolidated print window, so you can see multiple symbols at the same time. Total horror trying to monitor multiple streams without that.
A time and sales style window , with filtering, for size, etc. Maybe some color coding and filtering for X cent or % move within X seconds. No reason QT cant have more sophisticated scanning features, with cpu power being what it is now. It can do some scanning now, but mostly limited to charts that are live, not the universe of symbols you might be looking at. The old soes boxes showed the entire market in that format, so you could see where the action was. If you ever saw the Watcher in action, every time there was a quote change on Nasdaq, a color coded line would print. In those days, a quote change meant something. Unless you are watching only a very few symbols, its a lot of work on the eye to catch movement, if you only have to look in one spot, it's much easier and you're less likely to miss things.
I would like multi-day timeframes to show pre/after market until the market opens. The problem is that in the mornings it only shows pre market, it doesn't show after market from the previous day. I tried fiddling with the rollover point but that didn't change anything. Is there any way to accomplish this? TIA.
