This might not matter to the traders needing the feed from AMTD... But QT & IQFeed has no issues whatsoever...$50'ish/month... http://www.iqfeed.net/
I imagined the Medved boys had to sign a no competition clause, with luck when Qt is dumped by AMERITRADE at the end of this year, they can come up with QT2
TOS has all the standard pivots and probably it is easy to setup a script to draw the daily high etc. as well. And it's free. My main problem with any switch to TOS, besides the basic one that I love QT's customizability, speed, and SHORTCUT keys. But a very basic one, is for some reason you cannot plot YEARLY pivots in TOS, it's not even an option in the scripting language. WHY??
I've heard similar -- but bear in mind, TD staffers aren't too brite. My guess is, both products are going away.
I would think the non compete agreement would be based on time only and would not depend on whether TDAT discontinued using QT or sold QT unless TDAT sold QT back to Medeved (I do not see TDAT selling QT to anyone); But, I hope my thinking is wrong and QT will live on.
Would depend on whether the agreement defines "compete" narrowly, or more broadly as "offer any trading platform." Bear in mind, any new QT-like product would compete, in a broad sense, with TD/ToS's other platform(s). Heck, that's why they're killing QT in the first place -- because they believe their other offerings are "close enough."
