QuoteTracker To Be Finished End of 2011

Discussion in 'Trading Software' started by garbar, Jan 12, 2011.

  1. Thats why they are going to limit it to certain brokers. Their use of Net is very limited apparently so if you take IB and a couple of others you can produce a Netfree version.

I don't think they were any more impressed with Wine than I am but the possibility of a pure linux version looks more interesting. Also it might lead to an Android version to follow.

At least that is my current understanding.

  2. False alarm I'm afraid. They've taken a look at the issues of porting it to linux and decided not to at present. So, I'll have to stick with trusty XP.

  3. Garbar,

How did you get the 'LAST' column to show that way it is on your picture? I assume it is an ATR histogram overlapped with the last price. Can you point me to it? I had been looking for that function for sometime! Is it a custom script?

    Thanks.

  4. I've been using Quotetracker for close to a couple of years and I've really come to appreciate the simple intuitive interface it provides as well as the level of customization it enables.

The single most wanted feature from Quotetracker that I would like to have in another charting tool would be the automatic plotting of horizontal lines at predefined user selectable price levels everyday such as the previous day's high, low, close, today's open and standard pivots S4 thru R4, etc.

I trade price action and many of my trades are put on or taken off around these levels. Having them automatically highlighted and price labeled everyday sets up so many trades and allows me to effortlessly execute them such as in AMZN today displayed in the chart.

I also trade around opening ranges, support/resistance and constantly watch for trend lines but since those can't be put in automatically, I draw lines to mark them which Quotetracker also makes so easy to do without having to explicitly select a drawing tool.

Anyway, that feature makes trading much more intuitive for me as opposed to not having them visually represented and if anyone knows of other charting software that I can try out with that feature let me know.

Can still be downloaded from their site...

Might be charged $120.00, don't know for sure, since AMTD supposedly is dropping QuoteTracker at the end of 2011...

Just got off the phone with them. Started having chart issues last Fri. Backfilled till 9:20 am then nothing. Some tickers did, most didn't. Didn't realize, till I came here looking to see if others were having issues, that problem is limited to Naz. NYSE tickers chart fine. I went so far as to factory restore my newish puter and reinstall QT thinking that would fix it. Nope. It's def on their end, somewhere. Guy on the phone said they did have a back-up of QT related e-mails, he didn't know about what, and best I could do is wait for them to get to it. Not Happy. I asked about the rumor about dropping QT and he said something like "not decided" but kinda sounded like yes to me.

  10. yesterday and today QT not giving alot of correct quotes. I called and emailed and got no where as usual except they did tell me QT and several other platforms were going away. They want everyone to use TOS. I am currently looking for a new broker. I have had it with Ameritrade......10+ years and now I am leaving them. They don't care, your only a dollar bill to them.
