Barata, I have QT spread out over 12 monitors with 2 charts to a screen and each chart uses 1/2 of each screen. I can minimize any charts and then restore. Each chart restores to the same size and location as prior to minimizing. You must be asking QT to do something other than what I am doing.
Barata, What about the portfolio/watch list windows? If you minimize them then reopen, will they go maximized also?
The portfolio/watchlist windows keep their original size after I minimize them and then open then again...they don't go to maximize size automatically. But I was just trying again with the chart windows, and when I minimize a chart window that was in a Restore Down (non-maximized) size...and then open it again, it goes to the maximized size. I put it back into the Restore Down size (middle button) and then minimize it...and when I open it again it's back to the full maximized size. I've tried this a number of times and on two different Windows 2000 computers. Same problem. On a different subject...I've installed a fresh version of QT (to get around a crashing problem) and I'm restoring parts of backups one at a time. Which backup has the indicators? I've restored Port.xml, Charts.ini, and Stocks.ini but no indicators. Is it possible they aren't backed up?
CHARTS.INI has the indicators. Make sure QT is not running when you are restoring. Also, Initially opened chart settings come from ~CURLAYOUT.SLT
http://forums.dtniq.com/index.cfm?p...ic&topicID=3295 My QT stopped working with the new version of IQfeed. The solution given above solved the problem. Rob
Jerry, since script language for paintbars will probably be harder for non programmers (C) would you please add possibility that paintbars would be easy exported/imported so users can share and exchange. I hope we will have again some forum where we will all hang out as it used to be. I have a question about brokers as potential data providers as it used to be. It seems to me that now a days every broker want you to use their platform. Do you expect any problems to get brokers to cooperate with you? Wouldn't they see MT as annoyance? Hope not, just thinking out loud. And hope you don't sell this one lol Most good software that gets sold to brokers gets demolished over time :-( p.s. I lied, another question lol Do you plan down the road have ability so users can code their own indicators?
