I know you is funn'in wit me JJ... I was surprised that there was no warning from Jerry, ect... But maybe they didn't want everyone to jump ship at the first sign of a Japanese sub that had just sent 2 torpedo's our way...
Maybe the terms of the agreement allow for Mr. Medved to receive scheduled payments according to how they are able to retain and support the product and Mr. Medveds participation. It is not strange for a transfer to be structured this way. You guys simply have no idea...and its none of your business. Michael B.
Since you are not a QT user, I would say you being in this thread is none of your business... I don't think anyone here wants to hear your advice. Yet, here you are... giving it...
Sir, I am in all threads. I am a moderator here and who gives you the right to speak for the many here? Michael B.
v77 ... since when are you the "who gives advice" police? LOL. As and ex-user of QT I can say that every step in the commercialization path to it being simply an Ameritrade front end has and (predictably) will be a disappointment to users. No issue with Jerry trying to get his screw - its a well trodden path - just that life is highly unlikely to get better for the non-Ameritrade user. Damn it. As a stand I'm going to close my Ameritrade account and transfer the funds to Interactive Brokers.
First with kiwi... You have always bashed QT (in fact, once when QT was having problems you actually put in a review on Sierra trying to get QT'ers to come to Sierra because it was so much better) (it is way worse than QT btw). So I assume you are getting off on this aren't you? My advice to what will be previous users of QT: Don't go to Sierra, go to Ensign. Sierra is the cheapest (worst) out there now! I have used all 3 for many, many years...
I realize you are a moderator here. So what? Why are you giving advice on QT matters when you are not a QT user? I have used QT longer than anyone on these or any other boards. Jerry and I go way, way back... You know nothing about the "QT" story... Yet you are trying to tell us it is "none of our business"?
I understand that you feel a deep connection to your tools and your relationship with Jerry. I am only trying to help and bring out points that many overlook when they got the "shock" of the thing. As far as advice....Re-read my posts. Nothing suggests what you should do and I am not being an advice giver. You started a thread that could make it appear that Mr. Medved is not responding to, and I simply want to make sure that the guests here understand that his lack of participation is no way an abandonment of his dedication to the platform. Why don't you PM him V77 and verify? Michael B. P.S. When I said that the details to the terms that the transfer had was none of OUR business...well it meant just that. As a current paying user you should be concerned about the future support issues and I understand that. Perhaps Jerry consulted with you about the transfer and I have it all wrong. P.P.S. When I was a user of QT, I noticed that there was a great devotion to the platform by its founder, Jerry Medved. You guys have been spoiled over the years and NO ONE will be able to match what the founder did...so get over it...As far as I can see Jerry is still very involved with the development and ongoing support and as long as he is there, you should not worry. You probably will get a forum later anyway's.
Michael... This must be the post where I thought you were giving advice or something to that effect. What you don't realize, is that for me at least, I feel like I have been nothing but a "beta tester". But I knew it would end up this way. I just wasn't expecting it to be now... Also, as soon as I put up this thread, Jerry did send me an email. I would of rather he did that before QT was handed over to Ameritrade.
