  1. Yes JJ, apparently there are those who would pay $399 for a charting
package that doesn't work right and there are those who will pay the
same amount for a car that doesn't work too good either...:p

QT was a great package while it lasted. It's clear that the general public who just wanted to waste time at work watching their stocks go up and down are the most "devastated" by the buyout.

No serious, full-time, real-time day trader with money on the line would ever fool with something like QT. Show me someone who would and I'll show you a 50+ something Cheap Charlie who has about a 6-month trading-life expectancy.

You are mistaken, the product is certainly inexpensive, but extremely reliable in my experience. Reliability is of most importance, not price of the package. The problems I've had with X_Trader would make you rethink your statement. Also, I don't use it for order entry, just charting.

  5. One thing Ive learned is it is unwise to make broad generalizations about trading and traders. Ive tried most of the data/chart providers and I prefer QT/IB to any of them.

That pretty much covers that ignorant "nubish" comment. What more could I add really?

  9. It would be interesting to know what Stevie boy uses for charting
if he even trades at all, which I doubt.

He seems to be seriously uninformed. Definitely a noob.

Does QT still work? I have it but it doesn't update the charts in real-time. You gotta manually refresh? Or am I doing something wrong?

    thx
