oh well...i put MB into the case, connect everything, install all the soft and when i tried to close side panel---oooooops.. :)

unfortunately for me it did not fit into the case, where i was initially planning to use it. it will fit in 8" wide regular mid size case. i have couple of them, but it's a pain in a** to take the s** in and out once again. will finish over the weekend.

been big fan of arctic cooling case fans i bought couple of these-

but disappointed. their speed is nowhere near CPU fan. way higher and pretty noisy.

another issue i run into is that when i tried to use SSD as a boot and OS disk and then added old, formatted HD to use as a backup(there was acronis installed on it prior formatting)- the Pc fail to boot up properly with message-acronis loader fatal error. i assume this is because acronis loader is still on old HD MBR and wasn't destroyed during format.
question-how to format this HD properly to get rid of everything that was on t?

    Thank you!

  3. Run Low Level Format utility on the drive...

  4. My current computer has 6 fans!
2 on the box, one on the chip,
    one on the power supply,
and one on each video card [2].

I tried putting it in the closet,
    which still annoyed me,
and I was a little concerned about the heat.

So, with very long extension cables,
running through a wall [where the Cox cable used to run]
I now have the computer in the living room,
and my computer room is near dead silent.

  5. FYI... A Dell Precision T3500 has only 3 fans (including PSU).. and if you get video cards with no fans, it's almost inaudible from 3'.

I used that same beast of a heatsink in a Coolermaster 690 case. My solution to get a relatively quiet pc was to make sure the case held a bunch of 120mm fans and slow them down with a fan controller. Much better than smaller fans running faster and louder to move the same amount of air.

  10. Well, I like my computer.
I simply don't like any noise.
So, a quieter computer wouldn't help.
