    Hi,

I'm looking for a quick and dirty way to capture FOREX 1 minute or tick level bars from one or more free data streams.... Nothing fancy... just want to write it to a flat file... I'll make a cron job or something to periodically import that into a pg db.

Anyone know what the best public data streams are and/or have a perl script or something to socket up to these bad boys and quick'n'dirty spit em out to a flatfile?

    Regards,

    E.P. Frederick

    Try GainCapital -

They've got a webservices interface and a sockets interface as well.

I've downloaded and ran their samples (vb.net/c#) but haven't
had a chance to really get into it.

    Good luck.

  4. Infidel,

your 1-minute data is also available for free via www download.

    Try www.forexite.com
    Or history.forexite.com

The whole site is russian, they changed the layout a bit, otherwise I would give you the direct link to data.

Search around, the data is there !

Could you give some more information about that? I was not able to find anything on their homepage about a socket interface.
