you answered too quickly. I edited my post. LOL I think they might be offering zero commission on US stock only where PFOF is allowed.

If I made the same trade with any of the other online brokers I'm charged a 9.95 commission.
Limit orders are filled at the limit price. With zero commission brokers ther is no commission.

My experience with zero commission brokers so far is that I might get filled between the bid and the ask.

One thing that zero commission does for the retail trader is to make it easy to sweep cash into a high yield ETF. With $9.95 commissions in and out it was hardly worth it for small amounts but with zero commission moving a few hundred bucks makes sense. Same with reinvesting dividends.

Limit order, if you get filled, is "free". Though many times a fill on a limit is because price is going further in that current direction.

"Free" markets orders likely have spread built in, and again most likely are the type of order retailers use majority of the time.

I would think retail swing and position traders would make use of limit orders and stop limit orders.

If I put in a limit order to buy below the current price it gets filled if and when that price is hit.

If it's filled at a discount brokers I pay a commission. I have done that for years.

Recently there have been a few brokers in Canada that have dropped commissions to zero. Compared to the other brokers those commissions are "FREE".

It also makes it much easier to scale in and out of positions. Probably makes a big difference for those starting with limited capital.

How is that good and what is the purpose of the "$0" when it is really $0.99/contact. We start at $0.50/Option.

Much better than other Canadian brokers who charge 9.95 + a buck and change per contract.

Looks like IB would be competitive.

Unfortunately, various registration requirements in Canada prevent us from opening accounts for those who are residing in or a citizen of Canada.

  10. Another winning trade. The markets have been moving, and my broker has made the process smoother than ever.

At first, I had my doubts, but now I’m just watching the results speak for themselves.

I am not changing my broker or any other thing about my trading! everything's already perfect.
