Thanks for all the input. Best advice was to go and look at them. Unfortunately I live 2 hours away from a computer store. So, I bought a 19 in Dell 1905FP (digital) on ebay for $355 shipped overnight. I'll buy more if it looks good. Someone asked the price difference in the 17in monitors: the newer one is $320 shipped from Dell and the older one about $250 shipped from ebay. When I posted the question I didn't realize that a faster response time was better so I'm puzzled as to why the newer model is slower.
Newer model might be slower if targeted to average market (not gamers). For trading, don't worry about it. You wouldn't be able to tell the diff in speeds in a trading app. For best display, your video card should have an adjustment for "gamma". In any event, the 1905's are quite good for market charts.
