Question in regards to Series 63 Exam

Discussion in 'Professional Trading' started by Britheron, Dec 29, 2011.

  1. Hi, I'm in a sophomore year of college, expecting to graduate in less than 2 years. I hoping to work in the financial sector. Well, do you think I should take the Series 63 Exam since it doesn't have to be sponsored and it might look good on a resume? In addition, after i pass the exam, do I have to renew my series 63 license in subsequent years?

I could be wrong, but I believe the Series 63 Exam, like all the others requires a sponsor. I think the firm you work for has to create your U4, then check the box for your exam, then your in the system.

Even if you could study and take it early, these exams are not hard for students that are accustom to studying. You would be better off spending your reading on books that expand your knowledge on Equities, Options, Futures and FX. More importantly, take some classes on programming so in the future you can learn to automate your strategies.
