Maybe a subsection where all threads created there are open too all and people can't be silenced, such as the ES Journal which, form what I can gather is just a place to call real time trades to see who has an edge and open too all
Depends on the reason for the dislike. BS, for example, has gone on for 1200 posts attacking the SLA and everyone who is interested in it even though he's never even read it. This is not a sufficient reason for posting a "dislike".
Ahh...he'd stopped posting by the time I joined. However, just been informed he's still here under a different name. I won't mention the name, but comparing their posts, I'd imagine you already know who it is as the style of writing is unique to say the least!
People looking at the total number of Dislikes will not see the brief notes unless clicking the Dislikes number. Similar to clicking to see all the names of several Likes for a post currently.
When it comes right down to it, I've never really seen the point in the Likes thing anyway. Before Facebook, people could "thank" someone for having posted something, and the Likes were just redundant. But the Facebook culture has now taken over everything. It would be perfectly okay by me to eliminate them. The number of "followers" probably means much more.
It's a pathetic state of affairs. "I (in the most general and ambiguous possible terms) like this thing" In a more advanced society, maybe one day in the future it might be: "This thing which has withstood scientific scrutiny is beneficial to the world and I wholeheartedly support it (with references)"
What I think you will find is that people with altering viewpoints will be blocked at a very high clip. The censorship of opposing views has begun.
