Now there's a blast from the past. Yes, he was about the best ever trader on elite Saliva/schizo was also extremely good. Startraitor was pretty good, but he really seemed to lose his way! Volente also good, but yes, Apex82 probably stole the show with his realtime calls In fact, he posted a few videos of his trading on a file sharing site once, and I have them on my old PC somewhere (saved them before he deleted them)
A lot of secretive traders in this thread, including those names you mentioned! http://www.elitetrader.com/et/index.php?threads/the-best-traders-in-et.277349/page-65
OddTrader said: I would nominate zentrader for a 3.96 Sharpe ratio: I have never seen any proof of that sharp ratio, but his statements are accepted woithout any doubt at all. Maybe he is another nickname for Oddtrader. If not the acceptance of that statement cllear proofs that it has nothing to do with proof. Some have to proof statements, others not. My sharp ratio is 12,589784. LOL
When mentioning the 3.96 Sharpe ratio (I recently found it from a very old thread - year 2001), I was also expecting someone else who knows of zentrader's trading well would respond to my post and ask him some questions directly for clarification. Thank you for your help for now! But I don't think you know his trading well enough to ask him proper questions!
The same applies to you for my trading. I don't think you know my trading well enough to ask me proper questions! Unless you have supertalents and can see my trading without being able to see even a single sheet.
BTW, I seldom (probably never) ask for any proof (whether audited or not) of trades from anyone on ET! (you may do a search on ET) I am here to learn trading from others. So long, ian!
I will learn you something else that might be important to know too. A long time ago I had a discussion about statements that were made. Unbelieveable not? Somebody asked proof. I made a copy of 1 statement from my account to proof that big profits are possible. Because of my privacy I removed all information about my name, address and account number before sending the statement. A few days later a broker with whome I worked, called me and told me that somebody did send a copy of a statement (my copy!) around in his company and told the broker that he needed to speak urgently to the owner of this account. It was very important! My broker could trace me back based on the info on the statement that he received from that person. They answered him that it was probably a statement from another broker. I did remove the name of my broker but apparently the remaining information and layout of the document was enough to find my broker. It was clear then that I would never ever again give any documents to anybody. And something else I learned from a very wise man: your friends from today can be your enemy from tomorrow. So 2 more reasons to refuse to give any proof at all.
Case study: panzerman and marketsurfer visit Fractal Theory http://www.elitetrader.com/et/index.php?threads/fractal-theory-i.291851/page-7 (and page 8) Trolling or fair criticism?
Criticism stated. Reply to criticism made. Reply to reply made, ending with "good day". That should have been that, and yet it continued. And continued. And continued. Hence, trolling.
Take away the criticism and what you are left with is a one sided view of the topic. Not everyone has panzerman's grasp of the topic, so you will get people accepting what is said and spending time studying it. That may or may not be a good thing, but it is infinitely better for people to go in eyes wide open and aware of potential shortcomings.
