Please make it transparent, so we know who has been blocked. E.g.: Members blocked from this thread: User1, User2, ...
Perhaps also a daily/weekly/yearly statistics which User got the highest number of blocks from all threads! lol
If we had that, number of blocks received could become a badge of honour, like ASBOs did in the UK. (For some bizarre reason there was talk of renaming these antisocial behaviour orders to CRIMBOs, as if that would diminish them as a badge of honour!)
I guess this feature will only encourage the rise of multiple aliases, as with ignore feature it's sort of kept at bay, by knowing one is blocked he will create another username and keep on posting. You can't fight fire with fire. But the user base will grow and it's great for ET!
OK then, let's have an Annual Award for that! ET will be getting environmentally cleaner, famous for this Annual Award (like an Oscar) and popular by getting more aliases! LOL
I don't think this will be too big of a problem. Even a troll wants to have a history. You are nothing without your posting history online. If you take any comment from someone you consider a troll and pretend you read it from someone who has only 2 or 3 posts, you simply wouldn't think much of the post and move on. Also, I'm sure it will take much more time to create new aliases and keep track of them all than it will be for the original thread poster to just click on the "block user" button or however it will be implemented. This will be great for posters such as Saber who had a nice little journal going before he got a bit spooked from some of the posters. He could have simply kept posting charts and trades, but blocked everyone from posting to his journal. This would allow others to still learn from what he is doing, and still allow him to not have to read any comments that might influence him.
As I said, if they'd never invaded and attempted to disrupt my threads, none of it would ever have come up.
You invade their threads as well. You do the exact same thing. You refuse to acknowledge that FACT yet are trying to justify your own dysfunctional responses to them due to them initiating something with you? That's a cop out and as someone with a psychological background, as you claim to have, you should simply know better. Bad behavior is not justified by matching bad behavior regardless of who started it first. Take some actual responsibility rather than trying to pin the blame on everyone else here.
I'd never even heard of BS until he began disrupting my threads and those who were and are still trying to journal the SLA. Let it go. *jeez*
The only ones who seem to have a problem with this feature are those whose past behavior would have likely resulted in being blocked from certain threads where their presence was disruptive/counter-productive tot he discussion. This, in my opinion, shows just how great a troll-deterrent/troll-control device this will likely be.
