Just curious... if you see price action enter into consolidation where it looks like theres a favorable outcome for a breakout or breakdown... do you look for heavy volume spikes in lower timeframes to help confirm where trader confidence might be heading? I never really payed close attention to volume in these circumstances.
watch an es t&s window and watch a 5 minute chart of the nyse tick for the breakout if you want to trade consolidation areas ---- Nyse Tick chart --- http://www.ttrader.com/mycharts/display.php?p=35903&u=macroevent&a=MacroEvent&id=1511
watch for the nyse tick for any buy or sell program action that will move price out of consolidation --- this can help at times to pick the direction for you {for intraday trading}. like today so far ---------- http://www.ttrader.com/mycharts/display.php?p=36392&u=macroevent&a=MacroEvent&id=1511
very interesting stuff. I think this is exactlly what i have been looking for and didnt realize it. Surprising how far the 5 minute tick can lead 5 min ES on breakouts and selloffs.
