It is not a matter of opinion. The Bible is filled with scientific misinformation. In terms of the finding and testing of truth, the scientific method is much more reliable than biblical revelation.
I can post links to scientists that back up "biblical science" if that's the term to use. But when I or someone else post such links or material the author or site is immediately ridiculed or dismissed as being biased or misinformed or worse. You want science to be the gauge to verify the existence or creation of all matter and life but science cannot explain everything as it is theory with many flaws and gaps in itself. Now when you feel there are flaws in theology you point to such as proof of your stance or opinion that theology is wrong and science is right, but when the tables are turned the opposite view is expressed, you will not allow it be true. There is no debate under these circumstances. Science has no concrete fact, it's theory and if you feel so inclined to view it as truth, it's your opinion only, not fact.
LOL. Losing faith and switching to a faith of non God is not the same. How convient the video does not reflect the WORLDWIDE decline of atheism by only using europe and america. Perhaps you might want to start posting on the chinese message board since in the next few year there are going to be millions of more christian believers from that part of the world.
Are you saying that the Bible is a MORE RELIABLE way to obtain scientific truth than the scientific method, and therefore disagreeing with my easily demonstrable proposition that the scientific method is more reliable than biblical revelation as a means of discovering scientific truth?
For instance, the Bible states that all life was created essentially at the same time, within less than a week. Scientific evidence overwhelmingly refutes this notion. Every bit of evidence gathered in the geologic record supports the notion that many species preceded mankind by millions, tens of millions, and even hundreds of millions of years. The Bible may contain some scientific truth, but the creation story in Genesis 1-3 is demonstrably a myth.
If you would Study the bible, you might find that simply quoting verses without truly understanding them leads to err in judgment. There are at least 3 different interpretations for the creation week, one being an actual 7 day creation, one which would lean towards the word "day" to being translated a span of time, the other is called the gap interpretation, where the word "was" in Gen 1:2 could also be interpreted as became, which would indicate that the heavens and earth where created at a time in the past and the earth became void at some time thereafter, upon which God recreated it for life as we know it. There are other interpretations of Genesis 1, but it's not my intent to debate the pros and cons of each, since you do not feel that any attempt is worth while or valid. just know that your limited view of Biblical content mixed with scientific theory makes your assumptions quite funny. I don't know by which means God used to bring His creation into existence, but there's no doubt in my mind that this complex universe was created and not here by chance. regards,
I am aware of the gap theory, but even that is indefensible, since the ORDER of the creation is way off. On day three (or is it "age" three, lol), God created plants, and on day four God created the sun. As we know, plants cannot survive without the sun. If a day is an age, then how did plants live so long? Also, contrary to the biblical account, birds did not appear before land animals: the fossil evidence reveals that amphibians preceded birds. And birds came long after life appeared in the oceans; the Bible states they were created at the same time.
