Market depth display and mouse-draggable one-click orders are almost essential if you want to be competitive as a futures scalper. You also want to get institutional level commissions asap - transactions costs really are a killer. And by those standards, IB is very expensive per round trip. IMO TT's X-trader is still the best front end for scalping. It is worth the expense as soon as you start doing any kind of size.
