txuk An interesting point. The last channel of the day was actually set in place at the 12:45 -1315 area, I believe. Jack stated awhile back that once the channel is scribed it is cast in stone. You add channel extensions as volatility increases but you dont change the channel. Im not exactly sure why he insists on this, perhaps he will comment. I cleaned off a chart and drew the main channel without the traverses. You can see that the original trendline was an important resistence point.
Thanks Easy for pointing this out, the channels are much clearer on your chart. I annotated the channel you are referring to but my error was not extending it far enough into the future (another of Jack's core rules for annotation). I annotated bar 66 as pt1 of a long channel when it was actually a wide traverse of the existing short. I appreciate the comments and the chart.
If I understand correctly, we always continue the channel from yesterday into today. But what happens when we have gapping, like this morning? Do we just slide the channel up/down to fit the current price movement? Thanks Anthony PS - where did everyone go?
Carryovers are only some of the time. You draw them (Pre-Open) when they are there. Otherwise it is a glance at the ST/IT channel and restart of a new intraday channel. For the interim, I am in the lab doing some DD on a few items. Also, my screen time at present is limited (domestic and occupation conflicts). TXUK rework was absolutely super stuff... What a work of art! Since the channel aspects are routine, my DD is largely in gaussians, str/squ, DOM. After synch, str/squ becomes a bit irregular wrt my visual (ie. still getting calibrated to its dynamics much the same way we got calibrated to channels). I know how the DOM and smart money operate independently and for the time being it is a matter of overlaying the two in addition to continuing to run the drills. My objective is to become highly skilled in order to do the equivalent of what Spyder did in equities. I am hoping that the next time Grob is in town, I can get pencilled into his schedule for some brief side by side with screen time. He put it on the table some weeks back but I was unable to get a solid date. Still Churnin... MAK!
Thank you much for the clarification and insights Mak! Sometimes I have to wonder if all of my beginner questions tends to make the pros just roll their eyes in frustration. I'm hoping that at some point I can grok enough where I can actually start helping and supporting others - without fear that I will steer someone wrong. You, Jack, Easy, BA, Icarus - and the rest - have all been inspirational in your efforts to help people. It's great to watch people build others up instead of tearing them down. Hey - if I can't draw the charts or offer advice yet, I can cheerlead, right?
Your unique effort is absolutely paramount. The "can't be taken away aspect" is when you experience the plateau (ie. no more falling thru the ice), it is a point where you in fact know that how you are operating is something that will never fail to be effective nor will it fail to deliver, quite opposite from most of the viewpoints in ET. It is tough stuff for many for sure. I occasionally look thru the Trader P/L thread and watch all the various EQ individuals run the gauntlet of their limited beliefs. The dividing line amongst the participants there is very CLEAR! I am relentless in my effort and my conscious brain works a bit slower than I would like for it to process. It's like shopping in SoHo. I sit on the courtesy couches they have in Express or H&M and let her go about her business. My counscious and subconscious are the same. I am consciously inpatient with my subconscious work. It's as tho, my conscious mind sits around waiting for the subconscious to hand over what it has worked out. At the point it is delivered to my conscious mind, it becomes an "AHA"... To be quite honest, your beginner questions and my questions are equivalent. I just run a 4-stepper and throw it to the subconscious... Sounds ridiculous but I have found it to be effective. MAK!
Through bar 34. I can attest to the four steppers working - I've been using them lately and exclusively for behavior modification. I never thought to use them for understanding / comprehension! Awesome! Anthony
NEAT! Your chart just gave me another SCT idea... This is why I have to close my lab doors some times. Otherwise, too many lanes on the highway become available... MAK!
