  2. I've noticed that Irelands version works differently when open at the same time with Maks (or even if Maks was opened (and then later closed) at some time when Irelands was open.) than when it was the only spreadsheet opened.

In a nutshell - if you have Mak's open at the same time as Irelands, you'll need to quit *excel* and restart Irelands spreadsheet.

Not sure why, just an observation...

  3. Believe it or not, the statement is more concise and elegant than most people can percieve. I could not have made a more concise statement. Least connectedness (multiple INDEPENDENT fractals), loop fibrillation (whipsaw), operating point (non-random market presumption), etc...

You of all posters should know when you are in over your head. It's kind of like jumping into the swimming pool without knowing how to swim. Even worst, you don't know how to swim and you jump in without your swimmies, well simply put you just drown since you don't know what to do and panic as a result of not knowing what's going on. As you see it, we "RANT" as you would state, about skill levels. Go a few pages back and look at the pace spectrum that was posted and how we discussed that ever slower paces require ever more skill. The extreme pace is the shallow end where you just stand up and plop your head out of the water so that you don't drown. Jumping in the deep end has never been a good idea. You can screw around in the shallow end without dire consequences (ie. blowouts).

The gotcha of course in your comment is that I already understand the comment you posted. Perhaps you also missed my IF1, IF2 comment a few pages back. No need for me to explain that which you will not understand...

My recommendation would be to stay in the shallow end. Since there are no lifegaurds on duty, you jump into the deep end at your own peril...

  4. Hopefully this should resolve most problems some of you are encountering. I tried to idiot-proof it as much as possible...

Be sure to completely shutdown excel and open up a brand new excel application before opening this workbook (for technical reasons).

    Kind Regards,
    MAK

  6. I can understand dissent, disagreement, whatever and I have no problem with people posting contra comments on a thread. What I cant understand is doing the same stuff over and over and over and over........Sheesh.

  7. Some comments as some of you get calibrated to the PRV bars. After a short period of time, you will recognize the behavior of the bars. You will begin to notice how at the beginning of each bar, there is a PRV burst and then wind down to some stable level and then wind up to the close of the bar. This is due to the indicator folks. 5M bars are fairly popular and indicator folks get their signals at the end of each bar. They act at the beginning of new bars based on the data their indicators gather from the end end (ie. close) of the previous bars. Some folks jump on the near close of bars thinking they are outsmarting those will be acting on the data that is gathered from the close of the bar. An alternative would be just to offset the fractal by half, (ie. offset each 5M PRV calc by 2.5 mins). It does not particularly bother me so I don't bother. It's just a comment in case people were wondering why the behavior of the PRV bars are as such...

    Regards,

  8. Sorry. Forgot to mention this was the IQFEED version. The IB folks will need to make their usual adjustments.

    Mak -

interesting explanation on the 5 min bar formation and correction on the atomic clock stuff too - my assumption was way off on the need to be in time synch with the official 5 min slots. It further explains I suspect why you wait up to 90 seconds to get your reading of the PRV as mentioned some time back.

  10. When discussing risk I think there is another factor that needs to be included and that is direction. Jack labels the situation Im talking about a High Volatilty Stall. You have plenty of volatility and plenty of volume but no direction and these are risky situations for most of us. The rocket uses the MACD to make sure you have direction along with the volume and volatility. What Im saying is that just because you have high volume does not always mean it is a low risk situation, unless you are an expert.
