Im watching but the divergence has kept me from doing anything. INDU wants to test 11000 but ES seems a little reluctant.
interesting -- I don't usually keep an eye on those sorts of things... vol is killing the deal for me.
traded the euro this am, made some money, did notice lack of volatility after 8:30 (usually volatility picks up by then)... closed charting program and went out. took 5 pts net out of a 10 pt range over 1/2 hr ed: looks like you guys got some sweet movement later on though.
First day back on the screens in quite a while for me........ stank up the place! Got in the groove in the PM... but still a down day for me. Oh well.
Really nice move today, but I´ve developed a fear for pushing the button. A couple of small losses two weeks ago and now I'm just sitting there looking... I switched to live mode three times today and every time I just sat there and looked, almost satisfied that it moved my way very quickly so I could say to myself "well now it´s to late, it´s not good to chase the market". I used to have a problem wanting to push the button all the time, and now I have the opposite problem, damn...
after live mode, paper mode seem like a boring thing to do, but go ahead push that button in paper mode, keep pushing, when you start felling warm and fuzzy inside quickly switch back to live mode and push
thanks, I will try it. tomorrow I´m gonna punish myself and go to bed hungry if I don´t take at least one trade with real money...
With regard to button pushing, Jack really put the finger on it with the four step process. Consider where pushing a button falls within the (M)onitoring, (A)nalyzing, (D)eciding, and (A)cting pathway. Obviously, it comes in the last step, (A)cting, which is an effortless step if looked upon on its own. Where is the space for hesitation or hyperactivity? It's not in the (a)ct of button pushing. It comes way before then. It's not in the (d)eciding either, because the real deciding precedes (d)eciding, which is just selecting from a small group of tools provided by the exchange to carry out the interaction between you and the market. It is possible to consider the entire pathway rationally, working backwards from the point of actual interaction (button pushing) to the consciousness that sets things in motion. For me, Jack's MADA is a SERTA thing: (S)ensing-->(E)moting-->(R)easoning, which is an AID process of (a)nalyzing, (i)nterpreting, (d)eciding-->(T)ool selecting-->(A)cting (pushing the button). What is it that occurs anyway when a person sits in front of screens and the lights are blinking and perhaps accompanied by sounds as well? What occurs is a mystery to most people, no doubt.
I don´t know if I understand you fully, but I´m working alot with the four steps and the sweeps. In the beginning I was only interested in what jack said about volume, channels, formations and so on, but I´ve come to understand how important these things are. To have a routine for how to monitor and make decisions and to focus on how emotions effect the analysing part. It´s very easy to start seeing ghosts if you don´t stay sharp.
