  1. The hardest part about sct is holding.:) Its tough for me to hold this long but you can see that there has been no reason to exit yet. As you probably noticed on the trade sheet I am reversing manually after exiting. I have not got the mechanics of auto-reversing worked out yet.

edit: closed it out at 1275.75 and did not reverse as I expect the rest of the day to be pretty flat. net 3.5 pts on 4 actions. Have a wonderful Christmas everyone.

  2. thanks for the chart easy. good trading too.

i think those first 1-2 trades of the session are the toughest. finding the right side and all.

as you proved with your trade log, there wasn't a need to take more than a point loss here. almost never is.

$100-300/ct/day without drawdowns shouldn't be any big deal.

  3. Yes. The first trade can be a bitch which is why I usually wait for a clear point three. Had I done this there would have been no losses but it could just as easy have worket out. I kind of like Jacks attitude about jumping in and going from there but it takes getting used to.

While you two are making tons of money, I have a very basic problem.
Since I´ve started working harder on using the relationship between es and ym I can´t have the scale of the charts jump up and down. But the only way I´ve figured out that allows me to have a static scale is to set the top and bottom of the range. For example on the chart attached I set it for 1280 and 1270.

This doesn´t feel comfortable though, don´t wan´t the market to leave my chart when there´s a strong move. What I'd like is to be able to set the range below and above the current price.
Attached is the "page" where you can change the scale, but I´ve tried several combinations and I can´t figure this out. Maybe it´s not possible with my charting program? Anybody who knows what I should do?

  5. i use sierrachart as well stalker. I have the range set to 20 points for ES. (i guess that comes to 10 above and 10 below)...
it only requires occasional adjustment and most of your lines are still on-screen.

a ten point range is too small.

also squintching up the price using the > < on the toolbar gives you more context and you can project easier.

    Thanks Dan,
but do you mean that you manually adjust it? Today it would be something like setting the bottom at 1265 and the top at 1285? Or can you choose a fixed range for 20 points?
I can´t explain what I mean better in english, but I hope you get my point :)

  7. i think i know what you mean, but i don't know how to KEEP the fixed range centered around the current price.

i manually adjust when price looks like it is going to be heading outside the current visibility. intraday, these are minor adjustments usually.

  8. Its been a long time since i used sierra charts so I cannot help. Kiwi trader is an expert on sierra and will usually help so you might pm him. Quotetracker has made it very simple to set your ranges and you dont have to mess with it once you get it set. Jerry and his brother will answer any questions by email within minutes usually. They have made a believer out of me.

    thanks,
nice to see that you´re doing good and that easyrider is trying sct, feels encouraging.
I´ve been working hard on creating a routine for sweeping this week. Since I can´t seem to follow instructions and are fobic to manuals I had to create my own sequence, when to look at what and in what order. Turns out very similar to jacks sweeps though. I´m trying to get into a very strict routine, cause I feel that it makes me much more comfortable and relaxed.
