    Question for Computer Self Assemblers

Attached is a picture of a I/O Shield for the back Panel Connectors on a computer case. There are two bendable plates that go over the NIC (Network Interface).

I think you leave them like they are to block dust and then you bend them outward when you plug the network cable.

My friend says you are suppose to bend them both inwards when installing the motherboard and let them rest on top of the NIC.

    Which way is correct? Thanks!

  2. if there is going to be a ethernet jack under that slot than just remove the metal cover. its there incase that specific version of the motherboard did not have the ethernet ports.
