did anyone ever tried to track performance of his fund or baffet's holdings after they file with SEC FORM 13F? http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1029160/000101143812000287/form_13f-soros.txt specially, when new position was established. the reason i'm asking, cause gold went straight up, after Soros bought some gold related ETF's Thank you!
Soros, nowadays is more of a an index type of an investor trying to preserve his wealth by investing in 1,000 shares and positions etc. You cannot benefit much by looking at his filings. Not only that, none of his short positions has to be filed. Buffett on the other hand has been severely under-performing the markets for a while. Majority of his stellar performance was made when he was much younger and had only a fraction of the money he currently has. You need to look at the SEC filings of somebody who is up and coming in the hedge fund business, not a has been. You need to look at the filings of somebody like me.
fatpitch.biz I believe this is Soros - enter "soros" into the searchbox "name" http://www.fatpitch.biz/cgi-bin/f.cgi/psp/extn/lmt_entry/cik.1029160.844.html This is one I look at - Fidelity (FMR) http://www.fatpitch.biz/cgi-bin/f.cgi/psp/extn/lmt_entry/cik.315066.990.html
