I wrote "...seem to be insinuating..." I'll put on my Bill Clinton hat for a moment and define my phrase: seem (sÄm)/ verb: give the impression or sensation of being something or having a particular quality. insinuate (in-Ësin-yÉ-ËwÄt) / verb: to say (something, especially something bad or insulting) in an indirect way You gave the impression in an insulting, indirect way, that anyone claiming to have a strategy for trading energy on a 1-min time frame is full of sh*t and will be eaten by the "big fish". If your earlier post to that effect was misconstrued by me, I'm sorry for the misinterpretation.
Yes, standard price action occurs the majority of the time. Non-standard price action occurs in the minutes surrounding significant news events (such as the Wed inventory report in CL). Non-standard price action is based on algos reacting to key words in the report. Once those reactions are over (usually a couple minutes or less), the report is digested and technical price action is again used to position based on the interpretation of the fundamentals. When I or the other guy "get in" it doesn't really matter if the price action does against me or not. What matters is: Was my entry according to plan? Did the risk:reward fit my plan? Was my trade managed according to plan? If I answer these questions with a yes on every trade, the net result will be a profit at the end of the day, unless my trading day is interrupted or cut short by factors beyond my control.
