Question about intraday trends and trading

Discussion in 'Trading' started by Robertwiz, Jan 28, 2014.

  1. Hello,

In terms of good solid intraday trends, which futures instruments "trend well" (have many good intraday trends) and which ones either have way omuch chop or not enough volatility?

    Thanks

  2. 1) It varies. :)
    2) Confirmation of the obvious ...... the most volatile markets would be expected to have the biggest/longest trends in order to justify/support their implied volatility.
    3) Chop is "relative". The longer your time frame, the "tougher" it can be to deal with it. Shorter time-frames can allow you to trade that condition easier. :D

Is there a particular reason that you have to limit yourself to intraday futures ? If you are very moderately capitalized, maybe trading stocks intraday or some sort of swing traded futures or options spread strategy is a better idea.

Intraday trends are noise. This means in the longer-term you lose.
