Does monthly margin interest fees go towards monthly activity minimums? So if I carry monthly margin and get charged lets say $50.00 USD for the use of margin, but I only make like 5 trades, does this satisfy my monthly minimums for that account? I am thinking of switching to IB, but my positions usually are longer term with accrued margin interest, but low activity. I like the lower commissions and margin rates compared to my current broker, but if I get hit with the monthly minimums and then have to pay for market data on top of that, then it's not such a good deal. Interested to hear from some of you current IB users. Also, what is the current margin rate at IB? Is it like 5.5% or higher? Thanks in advance for your help.
