Just wondering, does anybody know whether there is a workaround the daily logoff that is done by Interactive Brokers? I have an automated trading strategy that is very successful but I currently need to log into IB's TWS once a day, need to refresh all the historic data in order to get them into my application since the last logout and other hassles. Its a major inconvenience. Any ideas? THanks a lot.
You can write your own software to relog you in with something like Autoit but its probably easier to get the stuff from the IB TWSAPI group on yahoo. http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/TWSAPI/files/Auto Login Codes/ The only problem is they won't put the numbers in for ur new secure device. So you could try setting the logoff time to correspond with a time when you can do the relogin (or just keep resetting it to 1 hour before now ... I'm pretty sure you can prevent it ever closing if you keep adjusting the logoff time). Does anyone know if you'll hit a "secureid" alarm of some kind if you just keep TWS running for a number of days?
