She is a place holder like Cheney haha.... If Dems think Biden has a chance of winning re election then he needs a real VP that will be the successor to run in 2028. That way they have 4 years of VP status to then run. Sooner or later DNC will realize this and if they go with Biden they will ask Kamala to invent a reason why she will step down (spend more time with family, study her blue suit, etc..).
Biden should have picked Klobuchar. My guess is that Harris didn't bring out anybody. VPs don't have that effect. They only turn people off of a ticket. If anything it only made more people afraid that if Biden kicked the bucket that she would be POTUS. She was clearly an extremely weak primary candidate and went from starting as one of the frontrunners to crashing quickly. The idea that they needed a woman of color when there were only a few in the Senate and zero governors of that profile made little sense. This pronoun shit to appease 0.5% of the people is hurtful to winning over the center of the country.
I think people would have tired of that almost crying raspy voice of Amy real fast. Joe was forced to pick one from the candidates who were running for prez and not much to choose from sadly. Picking another old white man in the Biden/Pence/Cheney/Gore mold which usually works was not going to this time. Dems are facing a real crisis in 2024 but that is because their window was 2016 and they blew it so they are 4 years too late and too slow/old. GOP went through that in 2016 and when it imploded trump rose out of the ashes, not the best choice but got the job done for them which is why all those GOP noodles immediately went from hating to dick sucking. I dont see anything like that happening for the Dems in 2024 or it is too early to know what is coming. The AOC/Bernie Sanders wing needs to be marginalized because it does not fly in the center of the country. Biden cnanot hang on and harris.....she is wearing a blue suit. The bigger issue that worries me is that complete fuck up means GOP can walk to a victory in 2024. A GOP victory does not bother me, I care more about the person over party. The fact that the dems will offer horrible resistance means ANY GOP candidate can have a great chance of winning. Either trump or someone worse. SOmething that makes us yearn for Cruz haha. That is the real shit show waiting for us in 2024. Rather than forcing the GOP to separate from the trump mess and cultivate a new strong candidate, they will revert to 2016 playbook and we could get something worse than Biden and Trump combined....
Jim Clyburn made Biden's nomination happen and Joe knows it. After that, it was given that a black woman would be selected for VP. Clyburn and Camp Obama and Biden wanted Susan Rice but Biden was also having problems with satisfying the progressives so Rice would not work along with some other reasons. But Amy was never going to happen as VP with Joe being so beholden to Clyburn and the black vote he controlled. In 2020, a lot of pundits kept up the drumbeat about "wait until South Carolina, wait until South Carolina, and the black vote kicks in" in regard to primary races. All valid, but it is going to be very dicey in 2024 if the dems show up in those southern states and Joe is not running but the first black vp is not in the lead position or has already been ousted before Iowa as happened last time (and her approval has only gone down). No sir. I do not see it generating many black votes if the black woman has been set aside and -for example- a white male, hair-gelled metrosexual governor of California is in the lead- for example. And you cannot pretty that up by putting a black woman in the vp slot again. It begins to reek of "the women and the blacks can only be number two but we are supposed to be the more progressive party." Be careful dems. That same Jim Clyburn, Southern black voter primary scenario that worked last time could be a land mine waiting for you this time if it looks like Kamala was unceremoniously set aside. I don't exactly know how you navigate that but we shall see. Most likely Kamala's rating will be so low that she will not run and save you from some problems. But you still have to show up in South Carolina and similar states with someone who works for the black vote. Hillary suddenly adopted a fake southern accent as needed. Hopefully we will not see Gavin Newsome or BootyBoy do that.
Kamala will decide not to run again with Joe for personal reasons.... the reasons are alread being fabricated... bookmark this. SC was 9 electoral votes, I think it could have gone either way and not changed the 2020 election. The "Black Vote" was a whiplash from 2016 failures more than Kamala and Jim IMHO. It will not have the same effect in 2020 and might look closer to 2016.
No Great Karnac award for you if Kamala decides not to run again or if Joe "decides" not to run. Sheesh. Ya think? And the discussion was not about the november election in 2020. It was about the primary and Clyburn's influence on the black vote in the primary races. Jim Clyburn got Biden the nomination to even be able to make it to the november election.
Well, Klobuchar is a Yale and Chicago Law graduate who has shown the ability to outperform Democratic presidential candidates in Minnesota (a state Clinton barely won). Hence why I think she was a safer option. A VP doesn’t need to be exciting, they need to not fuck up. I can see Whitmer replacing Harris on the ticket if Biden beats me in the primary.
I think we can all stop citing where politicans went to undergrad and/or law school.....Ted Cruz went to Harvard and I have seen lumps of shit with more common sense haha... A VP with Biden needs to be more than the typical vanilla white man given the age of Biden. I dont think you need Kloby just to win Minn. She is as grating as Elizabeth Warren at times.
By Greg Bluestein, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution 10 hours ago ‘Georgia’s the reason we’ve got Joe Biden’ DALTON — As she wound down her campaign speech to hundreds of supporters piled into a community center’s gym, Stacey Abrams asked the North Georgia crowd to look back to 2020 to remember the energy and enthusiasm that helped Democrats score upset wins. “Georgia is the reason we’ve got Joe Biden,” she said to a burst of applause. “The reason that we’ve got billions of dollars in our coffers, money that’s being spent to help keep us afloat.” While other Democratic candidates in Georgia are keeping their distance from Biden and his low approval ratings, Abrams is following a different course. She’s embracing both her alliance with the president and the legislative agenda he has championed. With Gov. Brian Kemp slightly ahead in polls, Abrams wants to rekindle the coalition of liberal Democrats and independent swing voters that powered the president’s victory in 2020 as her opponent blames high inflation and the slowing U.S. economy on the “Biden-Abrams agenda.” ????
