If it were possible to make Kamala look as bad as Trump, I'm sure a similar number of voters would switch away from her, as switched away from Trump.
Do you have the numbers of voters that switched away from either? Because you're talking like there's empirical data out there, but I've not been able to find that. Only "media claims" with no support.
It isn't? Sheesh, and here I thought if there were actual people switching from their desire to vote for Trump to Kamala, that would be important.
For better or worse, "perception is reality"... it was true then and true now. Liars gonna lie. Don't fall for it. "Atwater was right. Public opinion, influenced and skewed by the self-serving interests of parts of the media and some politicians, is what we have to deal with. Prejudice can create a reality all of its own. How depressing." --- from the linked article
Let's call it "zero, or close to". That's how many minds will be changed by smearing Harris, which I argue is a similar figure to how many Trump voter minds changed over the past 8 years of seeing him for what he is.
Ok, but this goes opposite of what you originally insinuated with your below comment: I agree, an insignificant amount of people will switch sides for either candidate. But if Trump had the media on his side in the way Kamala did, it wouldn't even be a close race.
I don't think many Trump voters will switch to Harris. The question is can she get more people to get off the couch to vote for her or vote for her instead of 3rd party than Biden would have? There definitely has been an uptick in enthusiasm since Biden was replaced.
