Quadro FX3800.. High End CAD Video Card

  1. If the video is in the CPU, then you are NOT out of luck... if you have onboard video capability, that would be preferred.

    You'd said the machine was for "limited use". A budget computer would be just fine for that... but they typically come with only about 250W PSU and have a video chip mounted on the mobo to avoid the cost of buying a dedicated video card.

    That said, I once had a conversation about the Dell Vostro.. an el-cheapo with only 200W PSU.. The guy I was talking to said he'd swapped out the PSU for a 600W model and was able to run a gaming card OK.

    You could look up the specs with the model name, or tell me the model name and I'll look it up.
