I'm not sure where you are getting those numbers from. Are you using that 100k as a generic number for calculation? Quadriga did not double it's money in 2003. It did not have a 33% drawdown this year and the fund was not up 50% this year.

Not that I know of. I don't think they can merge funds because it is registered with the SEC. I think they would have to do another filing with the SEC and create a whole new offering document.

  3. Just a generic name and number for performance calculation purposes.

So are my performance calculations right?

Well I don't know which fund in Quadriga you are referring to. The B fund was up about 35% last year. It was up at one point about 23% this year and had a 20% drawdown in March and April. The fund is about 7% TYD. So, no the numbers are not right. The A fund is less aggressive then the B fund so the numbers are even smaller. Hope this helps.

    lsudaytrade,

    Your calculations are correct.

If Sample Fund AAA starts with 100k
Makes 100k and goes up to 200k in 2003
Loses 100k and goes down to 100k in 2004

    2003 +100%
    2004 -50%
The percentages are base on NAV.
Even though the fund lost 100k, it lost a smaller percent
since it had more money in 2004.

I do not see how these numbers have anything to do
with Quadriga since they never made 100% or lost 50%
in a given year. You were confusing people since they
didn't know you were using example numbers and thought
you were talking about Quadriga numbers.

  6. Will somebody extrapolate this hypothetical example to Quadriga. I do not think anybody will take it as a flame or an endorsement, besides Maverick.

I don't think these example numbers have anything to do with
Quadriga. I think lsudaytrade was just trying to understand
    how the percentages worked.

Your assets are calculated at the end of each month and the
percentages gain/loss for each month are based on your
    assets from the previous month.

    ***** Example Fund BBB
    200k starting 2004
Jan 04' the fund did 50%.
So, now fund is 300k at end of Jan
Feb 04' the fund lost 100k and had a -33% drawdown?
    Yes, 33% of 300k is 100k.
    *****
So IF the Quad fund drawdown was -20% and thus lost 20% of assets from what it had at the beginning of the month?
    Yes, that is correct.

  9. What am I missing? This link does not show the A and the B fund? It shows the USD, EUR and the Hedge Fund.
