I still don't know what you mean by that. It's certainly a bad month but when you say painful, I think to myself risk tolerance. If your risk tolerance can't handle a 20% drawdown in a fund that makes 40% to 50% a year, well, good luck. I'm not commending them on a fine month for sure. But if this fund was only making 15% a year, I would be pissed with a 20% drawdown. But 40% to 50%? No way, that's not painful dude. Just a bad month, that's all.
It seems to me that this is just another opportunity. We shall see. (I know 40-50% is the historical, so what is to see) Michael B.
Guys - take a deep breath! First, I did not post the performance here - someone else did. Second - if you think I am being confrontational by saying that a drawdown of 20% in one month is painful, you really need to get out more. Are you guys investors, or do you work for Quadriga?
Kernan I'm an investor. You need to understand something about this thread and any others on ET. There are a few regulars here that post, myself included. From time to time we get trolls that come in here out of no where and make really ignorant comments. When that happens, expect the mainstays on the thread to go after you. And that's not just this thread but any thread on ET. If you want to have an intelligent discussion, make sure your first post on a thread is not asking for confidential information on a fund, then following that with a idiotic remark. Complaining about a drawdown in a hedge fund is like a long term investor complaining his GE stock is down .25 today. OK? If you have questions about the fund, ask them. But don't be ignorant. Good Day.
What proportion of your portfolio do you have in the Quadriga Fund, Kernan? Do you think that is too much?
Their performance is available to the public over the internet. There is nothing confidential about their performance and I have never recieved any direct or indirect communication from Quadriga. I would hope that the partners and those making the investment decisions on behalf of Quadriga would "appreciate" the posting of the performance, both good and bad...provided the information is factual, which it was. This lengthy discussion of their fund in this forum has benefitted them by providing more exposure to potential customers. More such balanced discussions would be healthy around here.
