11:51 ET QCOM Follow-Up comment (40.53 +1.07) As noted in the 11:35 comment, QCOM has experienced a solid pop intraday. There are two things that we are aware of contributing to the price strength today. First, stock has just experienced a technical breakout -- establishing a new eight month high after taking out a major resistance near 40 which had stymied advances in Jan, March and July. Also contributing to strength in stock is market chatter that India has ordered more handsets than expected, showing strength after what many analysts considered a weak start in the Spring.
