Qcharts: Are their servers still junk?

Discussion in 'Trading Software' started by deadreader, Jun 10, 2003.

  1. I used Qcharts two years ago and their data was ALWAYS several seconds delayed, or froze up completely, or I couldn't log on.....are they still experiencing such lousy reliability? I actually really liked how customizable the product was, and would've gladly stayed had they not had so many server issues......anyone?

It's much better than it used to be. Slow periods now and then, but overall, not much of a problem. I have 64 charts up at once, plus hot lists, running over cable internet.

  4. Interesting. I'm willing to try out a new provider. Let me ask the following questions:

    1) Is there like 14day or 30day free trial period for Qcharts?

    2) Can you link multiple windows with multiple time frame together? Like if you see something in the hot list or sector list you like can you click it and it will bring up the 5min, 15min, daily charts, and t&s, and level 2 all at once?

    3) Does it support the dow Eminis futures?

    4) how fast and reliable is it during fast market?

    5) how many charts can you pull up at once? you said 64? haha.

    6) do they have lke a real-time filter or scanner with it?

thanks! I have TS7 now and it's ok. But I wouldn't mind having a backup in case or whatever.

    thanks!

Qcharts been great until this week.
All servers seem like lagging big time this week.

    misctrader,

** 1) Is there like 14day or 30day free trial period for Qcharts?

Check their web page. I think they have a 30 day trial.

** 2) Can you link multiple windows with multiple time frame together? Like if you see something in the hot list or sector list you like can you click it and it will bring up the 5min, 15min, daily charts, and t&s, and level 2 all at once?

Sorta I think. You can have a quote list. Click on a stock and
a chart and level 2 and t&s will switch to the last thing you
clicked on. Just have the windows you want to change have
the Sym on top right set to Green.

** 3) Does it support the dow Eminis futures?

    Yes, YM03M

** 4) how fast and reliable is it during fast market?

Good except for this week for me at least.

** 5) how many charts can you pull up at once? you said 64? haha.

As many as your computer can handle.

** 6) do they have lke a real-time filter or scanner with it?

They have a cheesy Hotlist feature with it. You can get some
third party tools like RavenQuote to go with Qcharts.
I'm sure there are some good scanners out there.

    Have fun!

I'm also looking for a data feed provider.

    1) Do Qcharts provide historical end-of-day data and intraday tick data ?

    2) Do they also provide historical Time & Sales data ?

    3) How many times in the past 12 months have you experienced downtime from server or network failure ? And if so, how long did it Qcharts to resolve it ?

    TIA
