So did he fall down the steps or out of a fifth story window? Putin’s ‘eyes and ears’ dies in ‘strange circumstances’ after breaking his neck https://metro.co.uk/2024/10/18/putins-eyes-ears-dies-strange-circumstances-breaking-neck-21824095/ A retired Russian official close to both Vladimir Putin and the Kremlin’s secret services has died after falling down the stairs of his country house and breaking his neck, it has been claimed. Former director of the Federal Migration Service, Konstantin Romodanovsky, 67, had ‘incriminating documents on current politicians, businessmen and employees of the [secret service] agencies,’ alleged Telegram channel VChK-OGPU. For years he had been Putin’s ‘eyes and ears’ in several government departments – notably the Interior Ministry while always remaining a seconded secret services officer, it has been reported. Romodanovsky was Colonel-General in the ministry, but had been the first head of the FSB’s security directorate where he was nicknamed ‘Boot’ and he held a similar high rank. ‘Romodanovsky died in his country house under very strange circumstances’ said the channel, which has links to intelligence and law enforcement. There has been speculation on other causes of his death by the Russian media, such as hepatitis C, heart problems, complications from diabetes, or a simple fall while intoxicated. But VChK-OGPU channel said that while retired, Romodanovsky was active, serving on the boards of companies controlled by the powerful FSB secret service. A source told the outlet: ‘Perhaps his death is related to his latest intoxication and he simply lost his balance.’ ‘However, such ‘accidents’ have happened to several well-known businessmen and high-ranking FSB employees who were closely connected with the so-called St. Petersburg-Petrozavodsk group.’ ‘In any case, Konstantin Romodanovsky will not tell anything more.’ Leading pro-Putin Russian MP Alexander Khinshtein reported his ‘tragic’ death and said: ‘I can’t believe it.’ ‘I spoke with him just last week. He was full of energy and plans.’ There has been no official statement on the cause of his death but it is the latest of dozens of mysterious deaths during Putin’s war against Ukraine, which began in February 2022. Romodanovsky isn’t the first Russian official to mysteriously die. Russian general Magomed Khandayev, 61, was head of the State Expertise Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defence and was set to be a key witness in a major Kremlin corruption scandal also died under mysterious circumstances. Khandayev was seen as a key witness in a corruption scandal shrouding the Russia’s ministry of defence amid Putin’s illegal war against Ukraine. According to reports, his body was flown to Moscow to his home region of Dagestan for burial. His cause of death has not been specified. A Russian news outlet said Khandayev had a close connection with high-ranking officials whose activities have recently attracted the attention of law enforcement agencies.’ Meanwhile, football hooligan turned Putin’s spy chief Maksim Yeremin choked to death on a piece of meat. Former FSB colonel Yeremin was eating at his favourite restaurant in Moscow before his freak death aged just 50. He was rushed to Vorokhobov Hospital on August 25 but couldn’t be saved, a Russian Telegram post revealed. The official cause of death for the dad-of-three was listed as “mechanical asphyxiation”. Yeremin, a fan of CSKA Moscow became famous as one of the most feared hooligans after helping to create the prominent Red-Blue Warriors. His fearesome reputation as a thuggish football fan soon caught the eye of the Kremlin, and he was was recruited to the FSB in the late 1990s.
Guess he didn't like the tea. Russian oligarch dies falling 100ft from window - before scattered papers found in home Rogachev "had breakfast with his loved ones and was in a normal mood," despite authorities claiming it was suicide. https://www.the-express.com/news/wo...il-Rogachev-russian-oligarch-dies-fall-moscow A Russian Oligarch was found dead in Moscow after reportedly falling 100ft from a window. Mikhail Rogachev, 64, was the former vice president of the now-terminated energy firm Yukos. Authorities told state media agency Tass: "The main version of his death is suicide. The man suffered from cancer." But claims are circulating in Russia's intelligence channels that Rogachev did not have any "critical" health issues and that he had been talking to his family the previous night in which "no hints in his words about the possibility of death." Telegram channel VCHK-OGPU, which is reportedly linked to Russian intel, reported there were scattered papers found on the floor of his residence. Rogachev recently blamed his doctor for a botched operation, according to the Telegram channel, and allegedly his body was found by a driver of the former deputy director of Russia's foreign intelligence service. Russian news outlet Novaya Gazyeta, a news source unrelated to the Kremlin, reported that Rogachev "had breakfast with his loved ones and was in a normal mood." Rogachev worked for Yukos, an energy company with an owner known to be against Vladimir Putin. Putin reportedly threw the owner of the company, Mikhail Khodorkovsky, in jail for what some believe are political reasons but pardoned Khodorkovsky in 2013, six years after Yukos closed down. Rogachev's connection to a former opponent of Putin has fueled speculation regarding the potential involvement from the Kremlin in his death.
