  2. The more you write, the more it is clear you get your facts from Western Mainstream Media

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING

every day 2000-3000 civilians are crossing the border into Russian Federation, running from war.

And about 400-500 Ukrainian soldiers have defected into Russia, saying they want no part of the war.

This part about Ukrainian soldiers, even BBC reported on it.

lol..it's not exactly what happening..as a matter of fact-exact opposite is happening. people are running away because they don't want to be dead. they dont' want to be in the middle between ukrainian army and bunch of idiots without a clear goal or objective, running around with automatic guns. one more time-do yourself (and all of us here) a favor-educate yourself and try to read the information BY yourself in NATIVE FUCKING LANGUAGE. you will be unpleasantly surprised, what people in russia are saying about all this.

ONE MORE TIME: DO YOU KNOW, WHAT THEY ARE FIGHTING FOR (opposition )? please provide a clear answer

no idea . but do know motives from either side.

what is motive of Ukraine side ?

only think I can come up with is loyal to previous govt <=> loyals to current.

either way, why it started in first place, seem irrational. fighting to go from ussr to eu influence does not appear worth the effort.

  6. The only reason I didn't peg you as US government shill is because of your 2002 join date.

Because the comments you make don't make sense.

If you really are that clueless about Ukraine, I will explain it to you.

Ukraine was pretty much divided politically, this is not uncommon, even USA is divided 50/50 between democrats and republicans. Then came economic offer from EU (more trade, more opportunity etc).

Russian government having seen that Ukraine will accept this offer and maybe one day go into NATO. Putin called Ukraine and offered EVEN BETTER economic deal. Ukraine government accepted Russian deal.

Few demonstrations started in Kiev, half the people in the main city were for European deal, and saw Russian deal as inferior, they started demonstrations. These were legit demonstrations, BUT THEN, the busy bee, the US government saw the opportunity to deal a major blow to Russia's deal. Good old US money came in and demonstrators were filled with ranks of extremists, down right neo nazis and right sector type guys.

They started burning and beating and killing, Senator McCain join them pumping fists into air in city square.

    Government was overthrown.

Russians having seen what just happened, knew that they would lose their big ass navy base in Crimea, so they used the largely Russian speaking population of Crimea to quickly get them to vote and separate Crimea and join into Russia.

Eastern Ukrainians who supported ousted government in Kiev saw this as their opportunity to say NO to the new government, and took up arms.

They say the new government was not VOTED IN, but simply busted in, they now want independence and in fact they want to join Russian Federation, but Putin doesn't really want them, they are a mess and too rag tag.

And to prove that I am objective, YES it is true that Russia helps them with weapons. Just like US sends weapons to Syria Rebels, just like US sent weapons to every goddamn place on earth at some point in the last 60 years.

You hate Russia, I get that, Russia is not perfect, what I don't get is why you prefer US government.

US government has shown time and time again that they are in fact far more dangerous than Putin.

    Count the wars.

    COUNT THE DEAD

WHO KILLED MORE, USA, or Russia

If you Americans didn't have such extreme brain damage, you would remember that not too long ago, US almost started a war with Iran.

I honestly don't know why I bother, America is going to fall, economic collapse, civil war, you are your own worst enemy,

Isn't it funny that Ucan'tEatBonds quotes the Russian state owned media almost word for word and then complains about western media. Apparently it's best to get your news from one source only, according to him anyway.

He doesn't get that since half of Ukraine shares borders with Europe, they believe in and share European ideals (not saying they are right). Russia is still authoritarian and that involved bashing the gays and Caucasus folks. Alignment with either Russian or European powers is a long term commitment with pros and cons, obviously most ethnic Ukrainians want the latter.

Ucan'tEatBonds hasn't even been to Russia while Bob has lived in Russia for a long time, so it's pretty clear who has a better idea what it's really like.

Russia sanctions show Putin's 'short-sighted desperation,' Canada says
Ban covers meat, fish, milk, fruit, vegetables from Canada, the U.S., EU

CBC News Posted: Aug 07, 2014 5:31 AM ET Last Updated: Aug 07, 2014 1:11 PM ET

Canada will not be intimidated by Russia's ban on its food imports, Industry Minister James Moore said Thursday, warning that the sanctions will hurt Russian consumers more than Canadians.

"We will certainly look at the impact of these sanctions on the Canadian economy, but they will in no way cause us to have any hesitation in the principled position we've taken in opposing [Russian President] Vladimir Putin's regime," Moore said during a news conference in Montreal.

Russia responded Thursday to fresh sanctions from Canada, the U.S. and other countries with a ban on food imports for a year. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev announced that the ban includes Canada, the U.S. the European Union, Australia, Norway and covers:

    Meat.
    Fish.
    Milk and dairy products.
    Fruit and vegetables.

Moore said the sanctions show the importance of expanding free trade, including the Harper government's drive toward a free-trade deal with the European Union.

Are sanctions on Russia beginning to bite?
Pro-Russian rebels learning social media 'difficult to control'
Sanctions against Russia, but is Vladimir Putin listening?

Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz made similar comments in a statement Thursday, criticizing Putin's "short-sighted desperation."

"Our government will continue to put Canada's national interests first, but we cannot allow business interests alone to dictate our foreign policy," Ritz said.
