My thoughts on a potential short squeeze:

I am stay at home retail investor so have no special knowledge/insight/experience. I think that the ability to identify perfect candidates for short cover rallies is difficult. It seems like many are predicted or wished for, rarely happen. PCT has been expected or predicted to fail. They have had lots of shortcomings, prior firms affiliated with them have had issues bringing forth companies, SPAC is questionable form. I get the desire to punish this company and short the stock. Lots of people seem to have done it already.

Even if the company is executing, I just don't see the rush for pro investors to cover. Any fearful conditions in the market would allow a good push down to clear out stops from weak hands, seems there ought to be many down to $9 and then $5. Even if they are making product, when will the sales roll in and support the company? Is it real soon, same quarter, next quarter, or further out quarters from when production happens.

I also don't see the rush for new firms to step in with large buying.

Things that would make me change my mind would be actual sales and earnings reflecting quickly. Or new factory announcements.

I don't trust the online chatter pertaining to PCT. There could be smarter/larger players in the background of what is discussed.

I think the risk/reward right now favors the bull thesis.

Cnbc aired an interview with the Exxon ceo today and in part of it he discussed plastic recycling in depth. You might want to watch it, I'm sure it's on their website. He spoke about many of the difficulties we have covered here in the feed-stock, but what caught my attention that you might want to look into, is he said something about they have a new process that breaks it down to a molecular level and then they blend it in with their refined products. Sounds like something that might be of interest for you to check out. Exxon has pretty deep pockets.

    Should be an interesting week.

On September 16th, 2024 they announced that they had made 1M pounds of product in a week. For a plant capable of 107M pounds per year, it would be nice to hear the following on earnings:

    1. 6 more weeks of 1M pounds per week worth of production for the quarter. Anything less suggests there might be other or continued plant issues and they should explain. Perhaps there was even another week worth of info for November.
    2. Any production in excess of 7-8M pounds in the quarter ought be seen favorably.
    3. I want an update on additional facilities. Any progress on timelines (financing)? Will they focus on one plant at a time or will they build out more than one at a time?
    4. I'd like an update on when sales from production will hit the books and does it differ for compounded product?
    5. Denver PA presort update and impact to bottom line compared to alternatives? Max output? Any benefit selling non PP #5 byproducts?
    6. Clarify SK issues and how might these impact other plants? Was there something unique in SK?

It would be nice to know why the borrow rate is coming down.
