taking low probability trades for high reward is a strategy used by many:taking his chances as you so tritely put it. if not who is selling the low of a market?. this is why there is always someone willing to take the other side of the transaction. if your post was for 'information' only, then it succeeded in it's intent.and I thank you for posting it but if it was touting or suggesting that a particular strategy was better than another.........it does not tell the whole story.
Day 3. Leaders change Nice trading day everybody. Compared to the previous contest day, we can see how our leaders have lost some of the profits. While MrTorrent1984 still keeps the lead,we can se his result is down by $700 compared to Tuesday. Goodscalper who was a good trend following one-trade-a day model for us has unfortunately lost his account due to a Contest rule violation. So at the moment, we have a tough competition for the 2nd and 3rd place between u2871004 and Producer. The former loves volatile markets (HG, GC, CL, etc.) and made most of his profits on CL. 2 nice and cleverly held longs. The latter is concentraded on two symbols only, which are 6B and ES. Look at the nice $2225 profit he was able to make on ES by timely choosing to follow the uptrend. Good luck everyone. Nothing's decided yet. It's only $1000 that separates MrTorrent1984 from the rest of the group. Push it all up everyone!
nice update I hesitate to ask you but....what rule did he break to lose his account.....that would help us perhaps, not to make the same mistake. however if you would not like to make this public because of any reason I will understand....this contest is your baby...
ok I am out of tournament forgot to trade out before the close. but I have just found out how difficult it is to make money or lose money without any leverage. any way it was fun.
try again but learn to trade various futures. yesterday, those who traded Brexit related things ( Germany bond, UK bond, GBP, dax, FTSE ....) should find trading easy. And those who traded crude oil during mid US session should be happy. But then there is totally no way to predict when oil is going to move.
Day 4. Competition for the 2nd and 3rd prize grows While MrTorrent1984 is wise enough not to rush for careless trades, he is being pushed from below by new traders every day, and oh man, the distance in profit diminishes. He used to have a nice $1000 advantage over his closest rivals, but now that's down to less than $400. MrTorrent1984's 2 closest rivals currently competing for the 2nd and 3rd prize are Exile and Trend Rider. As the latter one's nickname suggests, he should be pretty trend-oriented, but in fact he's not always sure of the ES direction and tends to trade the ranging market both ways. Pretty common for a Contest environment though, as you are forced to take trades even when conditions are not necessarily favourable. Tomorrow is the last day of the contest. Good luck everyone!! Keep it nice and simple. Go traders go!

I have one observation to make about your trading platform the bars are too thin and I had difficulty to see them. i do not know if this was me only. this is because you do not have candlesticks and candle sticks are thicker and hence easier to see. if you can do something about this it would help me-in the contest I used my other broker's platform to analyse and only entered trades on your p[platform. but if I want to try to get funded, this drawback-yours or maybe mine- will make it impossible for me to even try.
