Public Servant Pensions

  1. Never ever going to happen.

But here's a suggestion for those of us who don't like these union/pension benefits. Let's put a bumper sticker on our car saying something like:

    Break up the police unions

    no pensions for firefighters

teachers retire with too much money.

You'd look like a real "reformer" now wouldn't you? *sarcasm*

    We are screwed.

  2. WHAT???!!!!

Cut Congressmen and Senator's pay and bene's......

    NO F'KIN' WAY!!!!!!

Besides, Congress will just allow themselves an automatic pay raise by not voting AGAINST it..... :D

Maybe if the UNIONS were all offered a deal like that, they would see the errors of their ways..... :D

  3. You know in the news there been some comments about firefighters collecting disability pensions but still working at demanding jobs. Sounds outrageous.

Listen up, back when the empire state building first opened, the owners use to sponser a contest who could run up all the stairs the fastest. I think it was the 2nd or third year a firefighter (on disability) won the contest.

Shit has been going on forever.

  4. What irks me most are these politicians wanting to reign in entitlement programs... Benefits put in place to help the truly needy..

They're making big public stinks about drug testing welfare recipients and wanting to cut back medicare for our elderly...

The numbers don't lie. over 50% of the entitlements for the entire USA are paid or back doored to public workers.

Maybe we should just rename a few of our programs and benefits:

Minimum Wage = US Public Wage
    Medicare = US Health Care
Social Security = US Pension Care

Set these to a reasonable fixed amounts and pay all public servants the same. Make it so they can survive as public servants but don't get fat unless they move to the private sector. Hell make them all part time jobs and offer to employ every citizen who wants or needs a job at some capacity.

    BSAM

What we need is a new Constitution which would include term limits, a balanced budget amendment, and true tax reform.

These three items fix all that is being discussed.

    I agree.

But the problem is that once the boat is tipping over, you can turn it back. This entitlement unions/democrats circle jerks and the guberment handouts that began back with FDR have now gotten so big and out of control, there is no turning back. Half the Country pays no federal tax. The democrats have won, they bought all the votes...and it started back with Woodrow Wilson (our first socialist Prez), then FDR and the great society. Now the dem's want NO ID's to vote (illegal votes) and the borders to be wide open.

Sad travesty and odumbo is compounding it all with health care socialism, massive tax hikes coming and $5+ TRILLION in new debt.

    It's over.

  8. I think there will be two forms of currency in the near future.

The free floating and freely printed $ that will be paid to all public workers and a second black market currency that private individuals will use to barter goods outside of our public currency system and taxing sham.

A ponzi scheme is a ponzi scheme and the only way out is for the feds to print paper and gift the loot devaluing the $.

What do we owe everyone? Just print and deliver the interest payments.

As it stands now you can't break c-notes easily outside of the country.

Got to love south carolina where the blue bloods still legally settle with confederate money amongst each other.

I think there will be some private reputable company developing a form of electronic universal gift card allowing stored valued transactions without triggering banking secrecy / FINCENs / laundering issues. I've seen similar private networks in Asia where the stored value is loaded on cell phones bypassing cash/checks/debit/credit cards. What ever happened to e-gold... think the feds made an example out of them.

May be an ideal time for an Indian tribe to roll out their own scrip... may allow them to sell cigs again too.

$27M unfunded pension for one school admin!!! sheesh $63K of debt per family in illinois just to cover pensions? f'n tax slavery. I thought their Lotto was front ending the pensions.
