Look at the fools in binions poker tourney......the top fools at their game......peace They know when to press and when to step back...but it is still gambling......
I didn't say they were fools...but, you can't deny the general public views the term gambler in a negative way. We're all liars, too. But, doesn't it offend you, when someone calls you a liar? I just don't think gambler is synonymous with trader. I give you more credit than that.
There is a difference between a professional gambler who employs money management principles, and a compulsive gambler that needs GA. However, they still both gamble.
So what? You're defining "gambler" in a particular way, then insisting that everyone debate the issue based on your definition. Unless you and everyone else agrees on the definition, you're just racking up posts and arguing nonsense.
Money management principles won't make the difference. You can play the roulette table all day and employ expert money management principles and you're going to lose. Why, because the odds are in the houses favor. You're gambling, the house is speculating. If you want to be a speculator and not a gambler, then only take trades when the odds are in your favor.
I have no desire to rack-up post...Mr. 1500 poster. I'm defining the term gambler as a word the general public views in a negative way. This country (USA) was founded by WASP's. Trust me, gambling is not looked on favorably in this country.
I don't want people to call me a gambler, but if someone does I just have to shrug it off, because its all a matter of perspective. If my perspective is that I am making more money than that person and enjoying what I do, then I certainly don't care. If I am having a bad month then it stings a bit.
How the country views it is irrelevant. You're debating gambling/trading with those who are posting to the thread. If you and they can't agree on what is meant by "gambling", then there is no purpose or meaning to the debate. OTOH, if you want to keep beating a dead horse, that's up to you.
there are games which you can tilt in your favor, by having an "edge" " strategy" or as optional mentioned " money management rules"...and then there are games which dont tilt no matter what....but in the end, what is it called??? I dont give a rats ass if u call me a gambler , it sounds better than spic....as long as I bring home that mo' fuck bacon I have been called worse........The biggest money I ever made was from pure bubble grab my sack dont know what will happen gambling...and boy am I glad.............peace in other words...I took a shot and got in at the right time at the right place and the GAMBLE paid off...now I just lose money...
Here is the difference between a true gambler and a speculator. A gambler only feels lucky when he wins. A speculator thinks he was both smart and lucky.
