Can you elaborate on what performance issues you were noticing?

    my performance issues were:

    1) my order entry via the API was really slow
    2) my TWS would use much more memory but it didn't crash this time
    3) some data in the TWS was slow as a result

    going back one version tomorrow

I have always used lots of IB's data. I have access to many thousand API quotes so I'm often using the workstation to the max. Something in the new versions seems to use much more memory therefore everything else slows down. I've already increased my memory per each TWS.

It was "usable" today and it didn't crash but I could see about 3 GIG on some of my TWS's -which is significantly higher than previous versions.

    going back one.

  4. Anyone having any API order/execution problems this morning? The order status acks are taking forever to report. I went back to the stable version and got the same behaviour.

It's now been two full weeks since the 978 "Latest" build imploded and broke legacy DDE order submission. @dst, you seem to pop into some threads earnestly promising you'll get to the bottom of various things...I can't really imagine there'd be much of higher priority than this. Hey, don't do it for me, do it for you (or your company): making it easier for clients to actually submit trades (read: generate commissions) is probably beneficial. Can you please give an update? I've now seen at least 3 updates to the LATEST build since it went haywire...but legacy DDE order submission doesn't seem to be one of the things those updates has fixed. Please pop back in here with an update ASAP.

(And yes, I know it works in the Stable build, and I'm told the Beta build might have it fixed...those are rife with other bugs and downsides; fixing it in the Latest build needs to be a priority!)

The latest version of tws had an update and I still have performance issues. The platform is just chugging. I want the download of the version before all this mess started

  8. congrats

    congrats

Received auto-update for TWS stable version with new Build number 972.1w earlier today. BTW there is no update note for this auto-update, it simply updated when you launch TWS. Their s/w release page has no details.
    https://www1.interactivebrokers.com/en/?f=/en/general/tws-notes-963.php

It has messed up with Hotkey setups.
    1) It is opening up Order Ticket Quote Panel for some Bid/Ask midpoint hotkey setups. This defeats the hotkey purpose.
    2) It is using "Last" price though your hotkey set up refers to "Bid" or "Ask" price, for stock as well as options trading.

I am not aware, if this new auto-updated "stable" version (972.1w) has messed up any other TWS features. Anybody, if they notice similar or any other issues about this "stable" version (972.1w) release, please post it.

    Thanks
