I always run the stand alone, and usually back up the DIR first, but haven't been lately,. Will start doing that again. A major version number installs to its own dir, but minor overwrites. suggest backing up the dir before updates, or restoring from your latest backup files you do backup your system , right ?
sorry, i dont, i just delete them as there have been very few problems for a long time. i have my personal dir backups , but would be messy to pass those on. cmon , you must have a system image within the last month , no ?
Bro, how can you not backup the whole system in case of a crash or failure? Been doing it for decades and have never had to restore an entire drive. But I sleep at night And if you're backing up files, how do you not have the TWS install backed up ? Cmon Next thing, you'll tell me you sold TSLA 800 calls, and covered at the high. dont think there aren't people walking the earth that didnt
Just checking in on this...did they ever fix/patch/roll back this disastrous update? Is DDE order submission (broken by this update) in the "LATEST" version of the software functional again?
Update(?): TWS "Latest" auto-installed a version numbered v978.1j this morning...that sounds like a roll back of the 979.3e "Latest" version that sent everything haywire...(not sure the exact version # of "Latest" that existed prior to 979.3e). The huge-font issue seems to be gone...however, order submission via the Legacy DDE API seems to still not work -- can anyone test and confirm?
I was still having performance issues where I wasn't before. Not sure what's going on. I'm sticking with the ugly glitch "stable" for now
