Big economic or technological shift won't be as big of a problem if a country gets time to adopt to new technology.

Let's think about this. If tomorrow suddenly Tesla is able to come up with 100% new self driving cars. So what? It still needs to hire the labor to build it and hire the engineers to run the production line and so forth.

Case 1: the borders are closed. Tesla still wants that edge so it will hence take the matters in its own hand and maybe train the engineers to catch up or pay premium salary for engineers who have the skill. Suddenly due to increased wages for this particular kind of engineer society starts to respond to it and gradually trains itself up. In 4-5 years now we have a country which has great technology and self sufficient skills and employed engineers to run it also.

Case 2: the borders are open. Tesla says fudge it. I am going to South Africa, India and China and I can get those engineers. Now suddenly, Tesla is successful and American engineers are caught off guard. American society never got time to respond and retrain. That is what precisely has happened in last 2 decades. The only winner in this case were the corporations.

Whether you like zero hedge or nor but you can't deny the graphs which shows the decline in middle class and rise of extreme wealthy leaving a giant chasm. And we all know the stock market went up and up while the inflation adjust wages never climbed.

Of course billionaire Trump and his wealthy friends are going to get a lot richer. As for the middle and poor. Don't hold yer breath as they say. Spreading the wealth around is not the American way.

  3. I read long time ago a book about Bill Gate. When asked whether his company will ever grow and last forever, his reply was No, there is no company can last forever, historically.

You also have to consider the kind of business. You can't just carpet bomb all billionaires. He is in real estate which is probably the most anti-globalization business. His other businesses are mostly drip in ocean. Yeah he did take advantage of work visa etc but he had to, to stay competitive.

However, what is different about him is he called it out. Even though he was taking advantage of it, he said it is killing middle class and we need to close the borders and stop doing it.

On the other hand, let me give you example of a meeting where Bill Gates, Zukerberg, Bezos met Obama and DHS so that they can increase the length of working visa for students in USA. After that meeting OPT length was increased from 9 months to about 3 years with EO. Currently basically any student in USA can work here for 3 years freely on OPT. Good luck to Americans looking for a job. There were journalism majors at my ex-firm, working in marketing on OPT. Now that is called corporate greed. Bill Gates just decided to hit Americans economically so that he can kill mosquitoes in Africa and India and keep his number 1 status. Currently about 1 in 5 jobs in USA is being held by someone on work visa all the while, inflation adjusted wage growth is nil. U6 unemployment rate is close to 10%.

  5. Get out of your basket Mr. Deplorable, open your mind and smell the coffee! Globalization is here to stay and it is like a runaway train that cannot be stopped. Today people can travel from one corner of the world to the other in less than a day. People can communicate cross the world with phones and emails and goods are easily transported across the globe on giant ships and airplanes. There is a little can be done to stop the communication of minds from all over the globe. Simply put, globalization is a small part of the human race evolution. It is something that is beyond your comprehension!
You are advocating a 19-century mentality that contributed to the great depression. Your clown is a con man and he sold you a basket of lies. He tells you to buy American and hire American while his ties and his daughter’s goods are being made in china and more than half of the people who work in his real estate in this country are foreign born!

Furthermore, based on your thinking and writing style I am willing to bet that you have no college education, you are blue color worker and never traveled cross your county lines!:sneaky:

From what you write, I can say few things. You haven't read my other posts. You wouldn't even understand my basic technical qualification in financial market. I am sure every time you loose $$ you have lost to my models. Now I know who the looser is on the other side.

Now what is to stay and what is to go, your confidence is stronger than of Mark Cuban's market crash prediction.

You just talked about crossing borders etc. Are you one of the illegals coming into US on a mule and hauling drugs cause you seem mentally unstable.

All I am advocating is taking a contrarian position. If the trade or investment is crowded, no one is going to make money. In the same way, smart nations need to now close up their border and when every one does the same, open up the borders again. And I have presented a few plots to show why I feel that. What do you have? Bunch of words which sound like ANTIFA women wearing vagina hats and yelling rather than an intellectual wanting a discourse.

  8. “You wouldn’t even understand my basic technical qualification in financial market.” You do not say!

“Your confidence is stronger than Mark Cuban’s market crash prediction.” I see why you do not like Mark Cuban. Is it because he criticized your Clown and called him of what he is?

“All I am advocating is taking a contrarian position. If the trade or investment is crowded, no one is going to make money. In the same way, smart nations need to now close up their border and when everyone does the same, open up the borders again." I think you are confusing stock trading with the rules that regulates the international trade. There is a big difference. For example I can trade shares of the Boeing company, maker of the Dreamliner Airplane, all day long and take any position I would like contrarian or otherwise and my trading will have no effect on the financial health of the Boeing company. However, if the Boeing company stops making and importing the Dreamliner parts from overseas and start making them home instead, then the price of the Airplane will become very expensive and the company can’t compete with the European Airbus or the new Chinese Airplane. Guess what will happen then? You guessed right! A hundreds of thousands of people in the States will be out of work. Do you have any idea how many nations are involved in the manufacturing of the Dreamliner parts? Over seven nations cross the globe, Japan, S. Korea, Italy, France, Sweden, India, China and the UK.

No matter how you dice it, closing borders and putting tariffs on imports will have a devastating effect on the working class of this country. Case closed!

By the way, a lot of those you call illegals have paid more taxes in the last few years than your Clown has!
As of your financial market models that you claim to have developed, if this is your way of thinking, I feel sorry for the people who use them! :sneaky:

It is time for me to take my 90 pound, 2 year old Doberman for a run.

I like that you are taking care of second most abandoned dog breed in animal shelter.

But aside that, I agree that price of Boeing etc will go up but it is price apparently Americans are ready to pay. Actually it is good for country too if you look at economic statistics of UK after Brexit. All pundits got it wrong. So, don't be that guy who was reading too much into pundits and lost it all.

I love winners, I hate Cuban and his confidence as he lost it. There is a saying if you worship the idiot you are probably an idiot too.

  10. I like that you are taking care of second most abandoned dog breed in animal shelter.” Can you support the above statement with data? or are you using alternative facts here?

Let me be your bus driver again and take you to school. Here is a picture and some general description of the Doberman breed!

    Hawke.jpg

The Doberman Pincher is compactly built, muscular and powerful, for great endurance and speed. Elegant in appearance, of proud carriage, reflecting great nobility and temperament. Energetic, watchful, determined, alert, fearless, loyal and obedient. With his sleek coat, athletic build, the Doberman looks like an aristocrat. He is a highly intelligent dog, suited for police and military work, canine sports, and as a family guardian and companion! needless to say that this breed has higher IQ than some of the Clown followers!!

“But aside that, I agree that price of Boeing etc will go up but it is price apparently Americans are ready to pay. Actually it is good for country too if you look at economic statistics of UK after Brexit. All pundits got it wrong. So, don't be that guy who was reading too much into pundits and lost it all. “ By writing the above statement you have proved beyond any shred of a doubt that my previous bet was a winner!

“There is a saying if you worship the idiot you are probably an idiot too.” Next time you look in the mirror, remember that saying!:D
