Well I guess everyone has WiFi at home these days, so even when your trading devices are connected via ethernet they could still hack any device in your network, even the ones connected via ethernet if hackers gained access to your network via your WiFi since most WiFi routers these days also have ethernet ports which most people use to connect their wired devices to.

Even when they are not connected to the same router, it's harder, but certainly not impossible.

And that is why I don't use wifi at all. Anywhere. Paranoid huh?

Interesting. I scalp and that is all I do and am flat at end of session. I scalp off a laptop and can trade while the wife drive if in our truck or car. I have a cell phone dedicated for internet and a router that shoots me a signal anywhere in the motorhome. I also watch TV through my internet in bedroom of the MH and wife can watch tv in living room of MH at the same time and I can simultaneously surf the net or trade. I consider scalping 1 to 8 points not 1 ticks or two ticks. I have no idea why others want multiple monitors looking like NASA in Houston. But then probably 99% of the time I place bracket orders for SL and for PT.

And I don't know why someone would travel in a cardboard box on wheels. Had a brother-in-law in the business for 30 years and having owned one myself (Class C) for 4 years using it a total of 3 times. Never again. I like to get there, not gooooo there.

I trade wireless with a cell phone backup. It's been years since I had to call the broker to enter a trade. Much better now than it was ten years ago.

Sure there are. Like freely moving around your house with a laptop.

That's for distracted gadflies :) I'm of the view that work is work so desk and consistent environment without distractions. When I'm in my office my family know to message me, not just drop in. I have a glass door, not up to anything weird :)

As I said, it depends on what you are trading. I was a fairly high speed scalper on futures so I had three independent data providers, two broadband and 4g. One of the broadbands was connected to gigabit laser link to a friend's apartment which was on a different transformer/ISP not sharing infrastructure as where I live gets a lot of lightning. I of course had the requisite UPS and the number of the trade desks for my brokers printed.

It was configured to switch between them without dropping. I think just once was the 4g cell in play for a minute.
