So you know for a fact that Sullivan met with Kerry? Or did Sullivan simply send a letter to Kerry's office expressing his concern?
Sullivan sent Kerry a videotape, a letter and made repeated follow ups. Kerry responded, so he was well aware. ----------------------------------- "Brian Sullivan, a [now] retired FAA special agent from the Boston area, "who in May 2001 personally warned Kerry that Logan [Airport] was ripe for a security breach. Sullivan "offered to fly to Washington at his own expense to give Kerry a document-backed presentation about the 'facade of security' at Logan, a Kerry aide said not to bother. 'You're not a constituent..." "
Kerry himself responded to the man, or one of his aides? Do you know that Kerry himself saw this video or the followups? Sullivan claims he personally met with Kerry, what proof do you have of this? Do you think it is probable that Kerry himself, or more likely one of his aides called the FAA and asked about this consultant to get their opinion on his credibility before they bothered Kerry himself? That is what the aides do, they screen out callers. Sullivan may have been saying the same things for the past 30 years, who knows? He may have been considered a nutjob by the FAA. Again, you are shifting the blame to Kerry personally, rather than toward the FAA. Sullivan didn't write a letter to Kennedy, or congressmen, or event he president with his findings? He didn't go to the press, 60 minutes, Bill O'Reilly, or other investigative news programs that like these types of stories? You run with the story without knowing all the facts, because it supports your own political agenda. Not surprising, we all do that from time to time.
You see any dispute on the facts anywhere from Kerry (or his aides)? FYI, Kerry forwarded the information, part of which originated from an investigative Boston news team and had already been broadcast, to the DOT. Pretty good, huh? Goes from a senior FAA agent directly to a powerful four-term Senator from the state where the airport is located and the good Senator forwards it to the DOT. Brilliant. --------------------------------------- "More than 11 weeks later, Kerry finally replied to his well-informed and anxious constituent. "I have forwarded your tape to the Department of Transportation's Office of Inspector General [DOT OIG]," he said in a brief July 24, 2001, letter, a copy of which I've obtained. Yet Sullivan had made it clear in his letter that going to his old agency was a dead end. He and other agents had complained about security lapses for years and got nowhere. "The DOT OIG has become an ineffective overseer of the FAA," he told Kerry. Sullivan suggested he show the tape to peers on committees with FAA oversight. He even volunteered to testify before them. But he never heard from Kerry again." ----------------------------------------- But maybe you want to blame Sullivan for picking Kerry in the first place. After all, last year alone he missed 64% of the roll call votes. Second choice, according to you, the drunk, Teddy Kennedy. Double brilliant.
Forwarding the information to the Department of Transportation, that would make it Norman Y. Mineta's fault that 911 happened, right? Last time I checked, airline travel was transportation, and under the direction of the Department of Transportion. The FAA is subordinant to the DOT, it is at agency level, and not at cabinet level. So the FAA passed on Sullivan's report, Kerry himself may have personally passed on the report, the DOT did nothing....but it is Kerry's fault that 911 happened, and he is guilty of "treasonous dereliction of duty" while the FAA and the DOT are not? Ooooohhhh, baby, that is objective and sensible thinking.
"The DOT OIG has become an ineffective overseer of the FAA..."
So by forwarding the tape and not dismissing or fully rejecting it, it means he thought the tape at least had enough merit to be viewed by the Department that was ultimately responsible for air transportation. Sounds reasonable to me. It is Sullivan's OPINION that the DOT was an ineffective overseer of the FAA. Okay, if what Sullivan said is true, and that he was a firm believer, could he not have sent the tape to right wing conservative paranoid senators who worry about national security 24/7? If he did, why didn't they do something about it? If he didn't send it to someone other than Kerry, why not? Why does all the responsibility lay on Kerry's shoulders? Is Kerry supposed to be an expert in airport security? And we can't forget all of this happened under Bush's cabinet. So, is Bush then responsible ultimately responsible for 911? Of course not.
Quote from Error 404: What is with the consistency of these attacks on Kerry? Is cdbernn really Maverick in drag? Hey Mav, am I you or you me? LOL I don't think so. Now cdburn uses words to blend not very subtlety Kerry and "a guy that is arrested for mass murder" in the same sentence. Now we know the source of the problem. Error can't tell the difference between a paragraph and a sentence. the "mass murder" remark was in a stand alone sentence within a paragraph. Am I calling Kerry a mass murderer. Only by the readers wildest stretch of the imagination. It an analogy, you do know what that means don't you?? cdburn claims to have been a part of the Democratic Party at one time. This is laughable. I guess "she" was a Democrat when David Duke was in Rabbinical school studying the Torah. Laughable? Why, because I don't now seem to embrace all the BS nonsense and actually am criticizing them? The Democratic Party I was a part of wasn't like the Demo Party today, although some things certainly haven't changed. When I left the Party I was regarded as a turncoat. It caused a bit of a stir. When one of our State Senators switched parties, I thought him a turncoat. When one of our Representatives refused to endorse the Party platform as he was suppose to do, I thought him a turncoat. When the local Editor wrote editorials condemning democratic legislation and candidates then accepted a nomination to chair a State Convention, I led the charge against his nomination, he had broken party rules. It wasn't until I left that I understood a thing or two about integrity and conviction. There are no decent politicians or human beings that are respectful of this kind of disgusting negative campaigning. The country is sick of it. Those were my same thoughts in 1972, and again in 1976. The people were getting sick of it. Yet the Democrats kept pouring it on. In '70, two weeks after the Kent State anti-war demonstration, and not 100 yards away, I was attending a seminar for campaign managers which taught us every dirty trick imaginable. I used to laugh at Republicans because they were so tame. Oh yeah, there was good ole Nixon, but shit, that was NOTHING compared to what the Democrats had done undetected and gotten away with. Why are democrats yelling now then? Because in the last 10 years the republicans have FINALLY started using the same kind of tactics democrats have used against them for decades. Still, voters agree that demo tactics are more negative than tactics employed by republicans. polluted filthy dark corner of the Republican Party. You're so full of it your eyes are brown. When it comes to dirty politics, Republicans can't hold a candle to Democrats. In that regard, Democrats are tops baby, #1. And the reason they keep using those tactics are because people like you keep it going. You suck it up and perpetuate it. You refuse to condemn the offenders, instead you proclaim their innocence always pointing fingers at the opposition. In the last 6 months Democrats have leveled every conceivable attack imaginable and you just suck it up as truth because its what you want to believe. Never mind truth and objectivity. In my years of activity I had thought campaigning had sunk to its lowest level. HAH, this year the Democrats have reached levels never before entertained. They appeal to your emotions and stupidity because they honestly think you're stupid. And apparently they're right. Just look at the shit you believe.
What part of- Logan airport is in Massachussetts and; Kerry is the good Senator from Massachussetts, don't you understand?
What part of- the Logan Airport in Massechusetts is not under the judrisdiction of the FAA and the DOT and; Norman Minetta was the head of the DOT and Jane Garvey was the administrator of the FAA prior to 9/11 don't you understand?
