  1. At least this guy doesn’t argue that high frequency trading, because

    of the large volume it creates, provides liquidity for the market – a

    disingenuous and specious claim. It so happens that volume is not

    synonymous with liquidity. After the first 500-points of decline on

    Thursday, the “robots” as you call them shut off their machines and

    took their bids with them as they ran for the hills. Some liquidity.
