  3. Mav,

You mentioned in one et thread that a prop firm can help raising money setting up a hedge fund if you have a solid track record with the prop firm.

What is the %age of solid track record traders got it?
what do you mean by solid track record? and how long is the record? Can you quantify it?

    Thanks.

    Yip,

In order to build suspense for the live chat, I will leave all these questions for then. Besides, discussion that on here would constitute advertising. Feel free to jump on the live chat Thursday, November 29th where Don and I will be able to answer all your questions that you were afraid to ask before. :)

It would really benefit Don and myself if you guys would post some of your questions on this thread ahead of time so this live chat will go more smoothly. It seems there have been 100 threads in the last month asking all sorts of prop questions and no one seems to be satisfied with the answers. So this is your chance to finally get some answers. So start listing some of your questions, or thoughts or comments here. Thanks.

Okay, here's a very basic question:

Let's take a private trader who is self-capitalized, is computer and technology-capable, has a reliable trading and execution platform and has a futures trading methodology that is reasonably successful (ie: long-term track record of not blowing themselves up).

Are there advantages to prop trading for this type of trader?

If so, what would they be?

    Thanks

  8. none. why would u need a prop firm to trade futs when u can find brokers that offer $500 intraday margins and 1 dollar round trips with high volumes. besides, usa prop firms are all equities oriented.

Hmmm? "Not blowing yourself up" - that's good, but have you/are you "making a good living"....perhaps Mav might have an idea or two.
